As in the normal sleeping hours. Just curious as to what kind of sleeping issues everyone is going through right now.
Me: I go to sleep around 11-11:30p. I usually don't have any issues falling asleep. I wake up once in the middle of the night, as early as 2am or as late as 6am to go to the bathroom. I have to cautiously and slowly get out of bed to minimize the sharp abdomen pains (thanks to whoever suggested keeping your legs together to help with that!). Then, I have to try to balance my best on my left leg as much as possible to avoid what I'm guessing are sciatic nerve pains in my right leg. After the bathroom, the pain is significantly reduced and I get back in bed. More often than not, I'm back asleep in less than 10 minutes, but other nights (like last night) I'm up for a good hour or two
. Then, I'm up for the day by 7:30a and get ready for work.
Re: What's your typical night like?
I go to bed around 10pm and toss and turn for about 30 minutes b/c I can't catch my breath, my hips hurt and LO decided to have a party and keep me up. I finally fall asleep and wake up around 1am to pee and again it takes me forever to fall back asleep....I then wake up again around 3 for no reason and fall back asleep only to be woken by my alarm reminding me to take my procardia. I normally fall back asleep until the alarm goes off at 5:15 for DH to get up for work. I then fall in and out of sleep until about 6:30 when DH comes in to say goodby and that's when I switch to the couch for a long day on the couch.
Considering I don't sleep through the night I'm never really exhausted and have yet to take one nap while being on bedrest
My nights are really similar, except I maybe get in bed around 10:30 and actually start trying to go to sleep around 11 or 11:30. I'm actually falling asleep really quickly, within 5 minutes, these days. I wake up between 1-2 times to go the bathroom, if it's later in the night (3am or "later") I have the whole Braxton Hicks/ hard belly thing until after the bathroom.
I've mostly been able to fall back asleep but there were two occasions this week when I was awake for a few hours after that point. One time LO was going to town, so that may have been a distraction. I get up between 6:15 and 6:30am for work and feel tired all day. If I have the chance to "sleep in" I'm still up between 7:30 and 8am.
I lay down around 9-10is & usually fall asleep w/o much trouble. Most nights I wake up between 1-3 to use the bathroom.
Aside from bathroom breaks, I wake up prob 3-5 times a night to switch sides. Whichever side I lay on, that hip ends up throbbing. I bought a body pillow which has helped a lot, but not quite enough.
Switching sides proves to be rough sometimes too. To move the bulky body pillow that's under the comforter w/ a dog who loves to snuggle isn't always easy. She doesn't understand why she can't be all up in my business like she's use to.
I usually fall back asleep pretty easily. On the nights when I'm up hourly though, I certainly don't feel well rested come time for the alarm to go off (between 4:30 & 6:30).
Life As We Know It: my Blog
I go to bed around 11:30, and get up to pee 2-3x. Back pain wakes me a few times too. Plus DD usually cries out a couple times, and even though DH goes in to soothe her, I still wake up when I hear her. Sometimes I fall back to sleep right away, other times I'm an insomniac for a couple hours. Then she's awake for the day at 6:30 (but again, DH gets up with her) and I usually get up closer to 8.
All in all, probably 5-6 hrs of broken sleep, which is so much better than the first 15 months of DD's life. Not looking forward to the all-night nursing buffet starting up again in January.
