Carrying LO in carseat ?

How old was your LO when you stopped carrying them around in their car seat? Were there certain places you would keep them in it or put them on their stroller or would you always take them out?

    I never carry S in his car seat. I just take the pram with me (and starting next week the stroller, when he's 6m/o he can sit in a stroller instead of lying in the pram).

    We have a convertible car seat in one car and the infant in another car.  I think I stopped carrying her in the carseat when she was four months old. It became too much work - lifting it in and out of the SUV was hurting my back too.  I swear, my back hasn't been the same since I was pregnant.  It just can't take what it used to.  I am getting old before my time.  It just got to the point that wearing her was easier.

    It depends where I'm going.  If I'm going somewhere that I may need to use it for her to nap in, I bring the carrier.  For example, right before I returned to work, I brought her in the office for a visit.  I knew that there wouldn't be a place for her to sleep when she got tired, so I brought her in the carrier.  Another good example is if we're going to a restaurant.  It's just easier to put her in the carrier so I can eat and also if she gets tired, she can sleep in it.

    I leave the infant seat in the car 90% of the time. I'll use it with the stroller when I need a place to set her. Otherwise I wear her.

    This exactly!  My back too has gone to Sh*t since pregnancy!  but as for the question, we stopped at four months, it was so much easier to carry him after that..like Hanneke after about 7 months we started putting him in the stroller almost exclusively

    We stopped around 3 or 4 mos in stores, I would just wear her and now she sits in the cart. I still used it in restaurants until she could sit up well. She will not sleep in it so that was never a concern. Even if she happens to fall asleep in the car, which is rare, she wakes up as soon as I take the seat out of the car.

    This and this...my back is awful and we stopped about 4 months.  With a 2 door at the time it was miserable.
