DH and I joined the local Y a few months ago so we could start working out more. They have a child watch there that has been great up until tonight. We dropped DS off, but the two women running the child watch were new to us. Neither of them greeted us or DS. DS seemed uncomfortable, but he tends to be shy. We left him with his jacket on. (they have always taken it off in the past and have told us they would take care of it) They didn't remove his jacket, which wouldn't have been a big deal except it was falling off and he was struggling.
The part that DH and I are upset about is that for the twenty minutes DS was in the child watch the two women sat at the table coloring. They colored by themselves. None of the children in the room were any where near them. We decided to leave and I went in to get DS. He was crying when I walked in and he ran over to me. The left side of his face was scraped and red. Neither girl even realized he was crying let alone know what happened. I get that kids fall, but to not even know that he was crying is what I just don't get.
We are extremely upset and requested that the manager call us. I feel that this is unacceptable. Are we overreacting? Sorry it got so long.

Re: Are DH and I overreacting?
You are NOT over-reacting. I would have done the same AND I would have spoken to the girls right then and there, too.
I hope the issue is resolved. Sounds like the girls are there to just make a buck by showing up.
Two grown women sitting and coloring by themselves?? What the?
No, you're not overreacting. I wouldn't want to take my LO back.
Go Phils!!
No way, you are not overreacting !!! I would be beyond pissed. I can't believe that they would hire someone like that and that both of those girls were so careless. I hope the manager calls you and those two are no longer working there.
I'm sorry that your DS was hurt and not taken care of properly.
That is completely unacceptable. I don't think that the managers should call you though, I think you should call them. Don't give them a chance to prep the managers with their version of the story, and don't wait around for them to give the manager a message they may never get. Call the manager and complain. That is not okay.
ETA: And please update us!!!!
