Go to sally, and buy a waxing system like they have in the salon.  A roll of fabric, a can of wax and a heater.  I've been working on the same can of wax for a long time.  The sugar waxes they sell in the supermarket are awful.

Good to know! Thank you! Smile

    What she said (:

  • I use Nair pretty glitter wax strips. I like them because you can cut them to size and they are easy to use. You don't have to heat them (no chance of over heating) you just rub them between your hands. They smell really good and the soothing oil that comes with it takes off left over wax.

  • I use Wax-A-Way sugar formula. I really like it, I find it hurts less than the stuff the estatician used on me and it works really well.

I have that wax heater and I bought a big ass vat of Gigi wax for sensitive skin.  I've had it for many years.  Just make sure you get the pre application lotion stuff because it helps the wax come off better.  Some wax is for use with cotton/muslin strips, other wax doesn't use strips and you rip it off with your fingers.

  • I disagree, I have always bought the kind you can get at Walmart, etc, and I haven't had any issues. I do NOT like the wax strips though, I haven't been ableto make them work for me, but I have very thick coarse hair so maybe they work better on other people.

I prefer the kind that doesn't require cloth strips, as I like the control I get with the other kind. It seems harder to find though. It can be harder to get off too, you have to use soap to get it off, not just water like some sugar waxes. I recommend doing it right before your shower.

It takes a lot of trial and error to do your own waxing, it was awful the stuff got everywhere! But after a while I got the hang of it, so keep at it!
