i've been on the hunt for nursery wall letters... i know my daughter is 2 months old, but we weren't sure on her name til she was born and then for awhile i wasn't leaving the house much. anyways, i looked at hobby lobby and they had some but there was nothing on the back to hang them with.... there's some online but soooo expensive since they are pre-decorated. i kind of want to paint and decorate them myself. where have you seen/gotten wall letters?
i also have the quilt for my crib bedding but we arent really using it, so i'm thinking about cutting her letters out of cloth and either stitching them loosely on to the quilt and hanging it or using some quick hem-ironing tape. that's my back up option.
Re: nursery wall letters
I got my basic wooden letters from Michaels. Then painted/decorated them and stapled (like a bigger hand stapler) looped ribbons to the back of them. It's a little hard to get them all even, but I got pretty close.
I did some for a friend with the wooden letters and I cut out some of the decor from her fabric (flowers and leaves) and glued them on the back of posterboard to give them structure, then hot glued them on the letters.
Something like this:
CareBear - Those are so cute. I love them. I want some with my name above my bed. haha.
But really, those are awesome
that IS really cute! i actually have some pieces of the bedding that i got as swatches for paint selection that i was planning to incorporate somehow. the bedding is a quilt so there's several fun fabrics.
thanks!
Here are some other ones I have done, in case you want some ideas for DIY ones:
Yes, I loved it when my friend picked it out as well, but they call her "Millie". To each their own, but all I can think about is an 80 y/o woman when I hear that name! lol And Camille is such a pretty name by itself - why not use it!?
Psssst Carebear - one of our nesties is named Millie. :-)
But I do think it is an old fashioned name - it was my grandmother's nickname (Mildred was her name).
I love your letters - you do great work. Hendy I did something similar. I had ribbon bows at the top which made it hard to measure them evenly, but I used small nails to hang them on the wall and basically lined the letters up where I wanted them, stuck the nail underneath, and hammered it into the wall. I might regret it when I take them down but they are very small holes!
