I had a follow up u/s today to check on Trevor's size (since I've been measuring behind) and to check my cervix to make sure there's no effacement. This baby is ginormous! He's doing awesome - measuring a week ahead (well, 9 days now) as he has been my whole pregancy... she put him at a Jan 2 due date based on his size. He weighs 4 pounds 6 ounces... big fatty! He's curled up really tight ("like a basketball") with his head pressing on my cervix and his feet and hands in my ribs, explaining why my belly measures behind. My cervix looks great, which is a great sign. All in all, my big fat baby (BFB as I call him) is awesome
.
Then, we were on our way home and went to stop at the post office, and this lady in front of us stopped for no reason in the middle of the road, so my sister had to slam on the breaks. My seat belt was really low, where it's supposed to be, but I still slammed forward. Baby is fine - he's moving around, kicking and hiccuping and all that, and completely normal movement... but my hips and pelvis hurt still... and this happened about an hour and a half ago. I'm lounging in bed working on my paper, and I'm going to give in until 6:30 my time (so about 45 more minutes) and if it's not feeling better I'm going to call my OB's office so the on call doc can call me back and let me know what to do.
Re: great news u/s... and not great news.
Yay for a great appointment and sorry about the accident.
I would actually call now and not wait. In an accident even if the baby is moving, there could be damage to your placenta that you would be unaware about. It's better safe than sorry.
Katie: 1/16/08 2lbs. 15oz.
Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
I definitely agree!
So glad to hear the appointment went well!
I agree with the pps - call now. It's better to be on the safe side. I know it's annoying to call when you were just there and I know we all worry about over-reacting. But calling after a car accident is not overreacting.
