Re: Thankful Thursday

  • I'm thankful my appointment today and the ones previous to this one have gone well and smoothly. And wait time is only 10 min max there...woohoo!

  • I am ridiculously thankful for MH, my sister, and my best friend who have been more only source of sanity through my parents pending divorce.
Well, we're on our way to 3 kids, 3 and under.
Set to welcome the craziness in April 2014!

  • I'm thankful that the fetal cardiologist didn't find a single thing to be concerned with on LO's fetal echo yesterday, and that we've FINALLY been released from the specialist's office completely!

I'm also thankful that I have all next week off work, and then only 3 more weeks until Christmas break, and the official start of my maternity leave!  Smile

  • I'm thankful that no matter how miserable I may be at any given moment, LO is always just a bouncing away. She makes it hard to be irritated when I think about all of the growing/moving she's doing in there.

It's nice to have that pleasant little reminder.

  • My husband. It blows my mind how sensitive and supportive he is with me every single day. (I'm tearing up just thinking about it.)

That, and Caramel Brull? frapaccinos are back for the holidays. O...M...G. So good.

  • I'm thankful that I'm going through this experience with my DH.  He's been so supportive and excited and has made me feel beautiful and secure throughout everything.  I know I can count on him when I'm freaking out and he's going to be an amazing labor coach and support.  Most of all, I know he is going to be an amazing father.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" - A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
  • Today I'm thankful for our home.  Lately it's been a constant source of stress, because we're trying to get DD's big girl room finished.  We have so much stuff from DH's office (her new room) that we just don't know what to do with, so the house has been such a mess that I'm slowly sorting through.  I am thankful, though, that we have such a nice home to clean and organize, though.  We've had so many wonderful memories here with DD, friends, and family, and I just think of how much more special this home will be when we bring DS home soon.

  • I'm thankful for a wonderful family including DH, my kids, parents, in laws and siblings.  I'm thankful that we can pay our bills without worry.  I'm thankful for a warm house and food on my table.  And I'm thankful that I have a healthy LO due to arrive in less than 7 weeks.  Thankful for my own health as well.  I am also very thankful that, even though we aren't rich by any means, that I can stay home with my kids and be there for them at all times.
  • I am thankful for my wonderful DH, and that we'll actually get to spend Thanksgiving with family this year (BIL will be with us for a few days).  I am also SUPER thankful for DH's job offer back on the East Coast, which will mean that we will never have to spend another Thanksgiving away from family again!

  • I am thankful for the generosity of our friends and family which has left us with virtually nothing that we still need to buy our son.  This is allowing us to get a bit more caught up on bills and buy each other something nice for Christmas

OMG - I can totally relate (minus the DD part!!) This is what's been going on w/me and I'm so thankful it's sloooooowwwwlllllyyyy starting to come together!
  • I am thankful that my boyfriend is patient and kind and loving and so excited about the baby. I get freaked out and I get emotional and I get mad and sad and a whole other range of feelings, but he is strong and stable and he is consistently there for me, and his love and optimism for the baby are infectious.

I am thankful that our families are so supportive of us even though we may not be 100% ready (financially) for baby.

I am thankful that I have had a very healthy pregnancy so far, that I have not had to deal with morning sickness, that my family has endowed me with generous birthing hips, that I have good health insurance, that I have a good job and a full life here in Brooklyn. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am.

  • I am thankful for my amazing husband.  My temporary nursing position ended a month and a half early, so I am not bringing in any money right now.  He is working overtime, and not letting me stress about it.

I am also thankful for Cadbury Christmas Balls, because they are delicious =)

  • -I have the most patient, involved husband. I'm so glad. He had the worst role model ever when it came to marriage and parenthood, and yet he is going to be an amazing father. I get all emotional when I think about how he gets to 'break the cycle'  and truly  be there for our son in ways his father wasn't for him.

-That Owen is healthy and everything looks like we'll have a normal, boring 3rd trimester at this point.

-For Owen's godfather and our close friend, who is in Afghanistan. Right now I'm just glad to hear he's doing okay. He'll hopefully meet Owen when he gets to go on R and R. I'll probably bawl, LOL. I can't wait!

  • I am thankful that I have had such an easy pregnancy up until now. I mean it's still easy, I am just super uncomfortable.

  • I am VERY thankful for my wonderful husband. He is beyond amazing. He has been rising to the challenge of completely building a new studio to free up our second bedroom, learning new carpentry skills and working really hard, even after he hits his thumb with the hammer. AND he has been so generous with himself as an emotional support and loving partner. There aren't words to express how grateful I am for him.

And my friends and family who are surrounding me with love. I am very grateful for them, too!

  • Super thankful that I have an amazing husband who adores me and works so hard for his family.

Also feeling extra thankful for my mom...my true best friend.

  • I'm blessed to have a wonderful DH, who puts up with my crazy pregnant lady emotions and still takes care of me at the end of the day even if I'm super mean to him. I cannot wait to see him hold his son!

I am also ecstatically thankful for my baby, in which DH & I wanted for 6 Thanksgivings.

  • Great idea for a post! I am thankful that my baby has two parents who are still in love with each other, I am thankful we have a warm, cozy home for her, I am thankful for my uneventful pregnancy, I am thankful that our extended families are really excited to help us welcome her into the world, I am excited that I have had access to such great information (and supportive women like you guys) to help prepare for her arrival, I am thankful that as a teacher I already have a wonderful library of awesome children's books, I am thankful that we have a warm family of dogs (all four of them) who will love and amuse our little human, I am thankful that I get maternity leave (some of it paid!), I am thankful that I have insurance, I am thankful I have supportive midwives, I am thankful that I will have a little bundle of love and will be able to hibernate inside with her when she comes during the coldest time of the year, I am thankful that my workload is gradually decreasing (as my energy begins to wane), I am grateful for all of the great Craigslist/garage sale finds that have helped us get everything we need for her for fair prices, I am thankful that pregnancy brought me an unexpected sense of peace (and spaciness) that has helped make this time so calm, and I'm thankful it will be the holidays soon--so I will be able to relax, celebrate, and spend time with friends and family!
