Does your DH talk to your belly?

Trying to get DH to talk more often, so LO knows his voice. A friend of mine had her DH constantly talk to the baby. When the baby was delivered, he was screaming his lungs out with the nurses until daddy picked him up and said "Matthew, this is daddy" and the baby quiet down. I thought it was such a great story that I'm going to make sure DH talks to baby all the time now!

DH reads to her every other night or so when we're laying in bed. It's friggin adorable. He scooches up all close to my belly, and she's usually pretty responsive when he starts reading to her, like she knows he's talking to *her*, getting all wiggly and stuff in there.

I only get to see DH 2 days a week and when he come home the first thing he does is says hi to my stomach. He constantly jiggles, kisses and talks to my belly. I swear my LO knows when daddy is home because she will kick and do back flips whenever he's near. When he leaves, she calms down again.

He doesn't really talk to my belly, but he does say hi occasionally. Like when I leave for work, he'll pat my belly and tell the baby to have a good day. Or if we're laying on the couch, he may say hi to the baby. Usually it's in a high-pitched excited voice, though, not his normal one. Heh.

Hubby talks to my belly (and kisses it which is super sweet!) every once in a while, but he does put his hand(s) on my belly and baby get so excited they start moving mountains in there. Every single time! I'm not sure what makes the heat of his hand different than mine (obviously size, etc. is different), and I think it's super cool that baby can tell the difference, but I must admit, it makes me a little jealous that baby moves every time Daddy touches my belly, but only sometimes moves when I do...But then again, I got to hoard the baby this whole time, so maybe it's a pretty even trade... Wink

Yes, DH sings to my belly, he lays his head there and talks to her etc. It's very sweet.

Awwww, I love that. Yes, DH talks to my belly constantly. I'm hoping baby will recognize his voice when he or she arrives.

Another really cute thing, DH is planning to get a haircut before baby arrives so he "can make a good first impression". Too cute.

My BF talks to my belly at least once a day. Usually at night when we are laying watching TV. He has the funniest "conversations" with her. Everything from how the Red Sox are the only team that will ever matter to how she is going to be the perfect baby and never cry or throw tantrums. It's super sweet and she will kick/punch at his hands just about everytime he puts them on me.

My hubby is always talking to LO. She loves hearing her daddy's voice. Whenever she was in my rib cage (hasnt been lately) he would "talk her down". She listens very well to him LOL.

My DH talks to the belly a few times a week randomly, it's adorable! He also tells her to behave when she uses my ribs as monkey bars.

my DH does it occasionally. Before we knew the sex he used to put his mouth on my belly and murmur "please grow a pee-pee" ...oddly enough, he did. lol.

Now I'll catch him with his hand on my tummy in the middle of the night when he thinks I'm sleeping and he's usually whispering sweet things to LO, like "I can't wait to hold you and meet you Xavi" Smile

DH talks to my belly all the time. Usually in a darth vader voice or something with a funny accent though lol. DH loves to make jokes all the times! I keep telling him that the baby isn't going to recognize his real voice lol

My DH likes to put his lips right on my belly and say "baaaabyyyy" really loud, then "kick for Daddy". It's kinda cute. He also says goodnight to both me and baby every night, and likes to rub my belly, etc. He's been quite attentive. He's also mentioned wanting to start reading a story to baby, but I'm still waiting for that!

DH talks to the baby and late at night when the baby is kicking and moving around a lot and I am having a bad time getting comfy and getting some sleep he will sing to the baby. It is so cute.

But he also likes to ask to touch my belly lol.. And I love that cause I hate feeling like my space is being invaded all the time and everyone can just touch me. I had to tell my sister the other day that I was not Buddha lol.

I'm so jealous! My DH will *sometimes* talk to or touch my belly but not very often. I ask him to kiss, touch, talk and play with our little one in my belly and he gets mad. Like I am nagging him or something. He is really excited to be a dad and always talks about how much he loves her, so it's not like he doesn't care. He says he wants to meet her already and since he felt her move once, he doesn't need to do it again. Now that I am further along (27 weeks) he does touch my belly more but it still isn't very often (in my opinion). Like, maybe, once a day or every two days. Anyone else have a DH like that? At this point, I'm trying to change the way I think about it and just enjoy the private moments I get to have with my daughter

My hubby's great, but doesn't really talk to the baby much. Once in a blue moon, he'll say, in a really high voice "Hello in there!" But that's about it. Like yours, he says he's excited to be a dad, & I'm sure he is, but he's not one of many words. He doesn't read to it or have full convos (which I think would be nice), but I'll occassionally wake up to a hand on my tummy, or he'll hold my tummy while we're sitting on the couch. I think it's just their diff way of showing they care, altho it does get frustrating sometimes. But, as long as he's there & shows he cares & will be there for the baby, I'm happy... could be better, but could be a lot worse. Until then, they're there & pay some attn to the baby, which is still in utero. What more could I really ask for?

That is such a sweet story!!! DH does talk to our baby, and it's usually really sweet. Sometimes he jokes around and tells the baby that he loves our dog more...I have to hit him on the head and he tells the baby that he's joking. Ugh...so silly.
