Update and Court yesterday

I'm not sure if you remember but DH and I were matched with our 2nd DS's BM 10/8 and there was all sorts of drama. We decided to proceed and put trust in God's hands. We met BM on 10/15 and on 10/17 our DS was born! He is a beautiful healthy baby boy with a head full of dark hair!

We finally went to court for our DS's BM to sign her consent yesterday (on LM's 1 mo old bday!). Things went better than expected. Our attorney had to delay the court date so that the BF's time ran out for registering for the putative father registry.

The night before court, the BM told our attorney that she wasn't going to court to sign consent because she wanted a paternity test done. Our attorney told her that she had to go. Just as our attorney was leaving his office, the BF called and said he wanted to sign the consent denying he was the BF and relinquishing any rights. At that point, the paperwork from him didn't matter because his time had expired. Our attorney called BM to let her know he had signed the paperwork. I think that eliminated some of BM's worry. Luckily our SW was there to talk talk to the BM yesterday at court. The BM pretty much just needed someone to validate her feelings and someone to listen to her. After all that, BM was completely fine. We sat infront of the judge long enough for the attorney to introduce the case and BM to sign content. Our attorney hand picked the judge so he was more sympathetic towards BM then most judges are! It was a perfect day!

Now we just have to wait the 7 day period for BM to change her mind and then all we have to wait for is the 6 months to finalization! It's been a long journey, but definitely worth while!
