I went in for my SHG & mock transfer today during my lunch break. While doing the SHG, the RE found a HUGE polyp that is basically filling my entire ute. She was stunned at the size ! Just last month, it was tiny...barely noticible on my u/s. So, what did she decide to do? She decided to try to "knock" it off where it was attached ! Holy friggin crap, was that painful !!!! It got to a point where she decided to stop as she saw how much pain I was in. She even apoligized after and gave me a hug. Needless to say, I have to have surgery on friday to go in and remove it. Because there is no way I can take the day off ( or even a half day), I will just have to take a valium for the pain vs. being put under ( so I can go back to work after).
This is all just getting too much for me to deal with. As soon as I see a glimmer of hope ( with moving onto IVF), it gets taken away. Instead of starting BCPs, I have to have this surgery and then wait until next cycle to start them. Why do I keep having such bad luck? Why can't I just catch a break ?!?!? Oh, and b/c the appt took longer than anticipated, I have to stay at work longer today. Meanwhile, I'm in a ton of pain and bleeding from all the prodding. FML. ![]()
ETA: I should also mention how awkward it was to have all the fliud just pour out of me after the SHG. B/c the polyp completely filled my ute, the saline had nowhere to go but back out through my vag.
Re: One step forward & 2 steps back
Love & luck to my 3TC girls. Congrats to Omega-The boys are here!
If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.

Oh my gosh, that sounds terrible. You poor thing, she should have given you more than a hug! I hope everything goes well with the surgery and you can start bcp soon after. ((HUGS))

I am so sorry. My RE discovered that I was filled with polyps too. I had about 20 removed. The surgery was really easy for me but I was put completely under. I hate that you can't get the time off work, I hope the valium does the trick for you.
Good luck!
Mrs. Mo I am SO SORRY! My heart sank when I read your post. Im sending you HUGE hugs sweetie. Hang in there!
Im so so sorry chica =(
I'm so sorry hon. There is nothing you want more than to start that cycle, and now something else has to come up.
Here is the good news. . . your RE is being very proactive. If she hadn't done that check, then your IVF cycle would most likely have issues. I've seen many girls who have crappy REs who are out for the money. This is a minor setback and you'll be stimming soon

~~PAIF/SAIF Always Welcome~~
Thanks ladies !! I'm still very overwhelmed and will be calling the RE soon to get more info. Yesterday, I was in so much pain & shock that I didn't ask a lot of questions. I'm just very curious as to why it was not seen on the cd3 u/s. Even if it was that large or even hiding, one would think that na experianced u/s tech would have seen it.
This is the one thing I'm holding onto right now. If it wasn't done, the IVF would not have worked.

Honestly, I'm scared sh!tless. I just don't want it to be as painful as when she tried to remove it yesterday. I'm also giving the u/s tech a
for not noticing it. They saw it last month, when it was still small, but didn't see it this past weekend. Of course, I'm having "phantom pains" now that I know it's there, as well. I'm just really tired of things going wrong. This will also be my 4th doc appointment in a week's time and I'm so over going to doctors. This IVF better work as I think I will honestly "snap" if it doesn't.
