Hello, i am a mother of a 12week old little boy and i am going nuts being in the house all day everyday. I am new to this stay at home mom thing (i have been working full time since i was a teenager) I have searched the internet for mommy and me clasees or somthing like them, even a play group, but have had no luck. Can anyone help me!
Re: Going nuts at home! :-)
What area of the Cities are you located in?
There is a group of SAHMs on this board who do things once or twice a month during the week.
There are plenty of things to do, at this point it would be more for you than your child. Como Conservatory is nice. He can see the flowers and you get out of the house.
I hate to endorse the MOA, but it is nice because you can walk around and show him some of the Christmas sights now.
Libraries are a great option. Most have story times for infants. They will get something out of it, don't worry.
Music classes are good- I think they may start at 5 or 6 months though.
If you can get free passes from the library to some of the museums- do it. You can check things out and take your son with you.
Half the time my issue is getting out of the house because its cold
Once I am out, it is not so bad.
Good luck.
Macphail has music class from 6 weeks up.
LOVED going to baby storytime
FV Southdale had a mommy and baby group. Did you check the hospital you delivered at? Otherwise you could join one in the FV system.
ECFE classes are offered through school districts
There's lots to do if you live near the Twin Cities.
Wee Wednesdays at Midtown Global Market (free). Different activities every Wednesday at 10:30 am. Play area for kids.
Sovereign Grounds Coffee Shop in Mpls- has an indoor play area for kids and lots of comfy chair/couches for mama. Great place to meet fellow mamas and get coffee.
Java Train in St. Paul- same idea as Soverign Grounds, but with outdoor area too.
Story hours at local library.
Good luck!
both sound like so much fun
