Reflux Mamas

A few questions for you. How old was LO when you discovered reflux? What medicine and what was your starting dosage? How long before you saw a change? Any tips on getting LO to take the meds?(we are on Zantac and DS acts like he doesn't like the taste lol)

    she was diagnosed around 2 months- we went on prevacid solutab 2x a day. she loved the taste...we put the tab in a syringe, put about 4ml of water, and mixed it- it was berry or something. we noticed a change within a couple days. it was our miracle cure! she stayed on it until 10 months! i know a lot of mamas that switched from zantac to prevacid...

    Diagnosed with "silent" reflux at 2m, on prevacid solutabs (15mg), saw improvement in 3 days. Tried to stop meds at 4 months, but now she spits up after every meal...so we are probably starting meds again this weekend. I put a solutab in her cheek and put a paci in. Without the paci, she spits or drools the meds out.

    I will have to try the paci trick!

    DD has been a very spitty baby from the beginning (we're talking ounces at a time), but I noticed she started getting really fussy and uncomfortable before/after spitting up at about 6 weeks.  I finally took her in at 8 wks and she was prescribed Zantac 1.9 ml twice a day (she weighed 12-10 when that dose was prescribed).   She's been on it a week now and I've noticed a HUGE difference in how much she spits up, and it doesn't seem to bother her much anymore.  She absolutely hates the taste, though, and so I hate giving it to her!  And it seems at least half of it dribbles out the side of her mouth no matter how I try to make her swallow it.  Poor baby. Sad  Is it bad that I want to try the Prevacid just for her sake and the taste?   Then again if the Zantac is working maybe I shouldn't mess with it, lol...

    GL, I hope you find something that works for your DS!!

    (Did you taste the Zantac?  I tried a little drop and it tastes like strong peppermint!  No wonder they don't like it!!)

    Same med protocol as last time, but heparin continued until delivery.

    We are doing the same amount of Zantac and I swear tonight when I gave it to him he pushed at least half of it out. I'm with you on the Prevacid lol. I did after I smelled it and I can't honestly blame them for not liking it. We will have to get together for a playdate once they get a little bigger!

    DS is prescribed 1.5 Zantac .. Diagnosed at 2 months. I use a syringe , stick it in his mouth against the inside of the cheek in three small doses
