Crying at loud/odd noises?

So starting this past week Dylan will have a meltdown when he hears a really loud surprising sound or just an odd noise. Yesterday I yawned really loud and his face crumbled and he started crying. Today I dropped something in the kitchen while getting lunch ready and the same thing. Anyone else? He never was like this before.

    Thank you for asking this because my little man has been doing the same thing. At first I thought it was his ears but at his 9mo well baby the Dr. said his ears were fine. Curious to see the answers.

    DS gets scared when DI burps also. He hates the blow dryer, even when it's on low. Fi makes this weird noise and DS hates it and gets a big pouty (if thats spelled right) lip and starts crying. Most any loud or semi loud noise he gets upset too.

    Not constantly, but def more than he used to, and like you said, sometimes it's weird things you wouldn't expect to bother them at all!

    E has started crying at the vacuum.  You have to be in her line of vision and tell her that it's okay and make silly noises/happy faces the whole time you're vacuuming.  She used to care less...wouldn't even startle.  Also, if J is wrestling with the dog and the dog starts doing his play growling, she'll lose it.  Oh!  And the dog "sings" when J plays the harmonica.  She used to LOVE that.  Not anymore.  It must be the age they're at now.

    One of mine likes to make these loud screeching noises every once in awhile.  It's not even like she's upset or anything, she just screeches.  This freaks out my other one and she instantly starts crying so hard she is almost out of breath.  She does this with other noises too but mostly noises from her sister!

    Oh mine too!  I thought maybe I had a 'fraidy cat!

    He cries when we sneeze or when the dog barks loudly now - never used to before.  And my parents have a toy that is a little loud and it really scares him.  I hope he grows out of this stage quickly!
