Ok, I feel like a complete idiot asking this question, but I just can't get it out of my mind. 3 years ago I started working out with my friend who's a personal trainer in order to lose weight for my wedding last year. Basically I would go to her house once a week and get the most intense workouts and then at least 4 other days that week work out at my home for a moderate workout. I would be sore after her workouts for a couple of days. However, life being what it is, after the wedding I quit going to her house, only working out at home. This was fine as I was keeping the weight off. However, the TTC journey has had me through so many ups and downs this year that I have gained back half the weight I lost. So I decided to quit focusing on TTC and focus on getting this weight off again and working out with my friend. So, I started going back to her house last week. I was sore for 4 days. I am supposed to go back tonight to work out, but this morning got a + OPK. I had not expected it until this weekend based on the last two months, but I'm not as stressed out this month as the last two so I guess that does really effect it. And DH and I had taken a day off together yesterday to be with each other so I was pretty excited to get the positive this morning. Unfortunately, I am now also freaking out that if I go to my friends for the workout tonight that I'll somehow be hurting my chances of pregnancy this month. Like somehow egg and sperm won't meet if I have too intense of a workout. DH thinks I should just go workout and not worry about TTC and my friend said that knowing me she would understand if I chose not to go tonight but that she'd work me out even harder next week (like if I don't go tonight I'd be going next week, ha). I've tried looking this up online and have found nothing helpful.
So, after that super long explanation, my question is this: what would you do? Has anyone been told anything about this from their doctors? I will feel really stupid calling my doctor for this, but I can't get that fear out of my head. TIA for your thoughts.
Re: Intense exercise?? (long)
Actually, there are some times where exercise can be a problem. When I was doing IVF and stimming, my ovaries were getting stimmed and growing huge. The doctors warned against most exercise because the ovaries can get twisted and have big problems.
Other than that, I haven't heard exercise is bad. Most doctors say it is good to keep in shape. I think the bigger problem is since you are out of shape that you might pull something and not continue to exercise as a result. Slow and steady!
