DD is 4 months and we went in for her check up this morning, she's perfectly healthy. We were talking about how she was an early roller (like her big sister) and how she likes to sleep on her side/tummy. The pedi told me that I should roll her back on to her back when she rolls on her tummy while sleeping. It is of course a SIDS prevention measure. The thing is that I know it will wake her and she'll just flip back over.
Have you had experience with this? Has your pedi told you to roll your kid back over or leave them alone. DD#1 had a different pedi and that one told us to let her sleep where she wanted. The weird thing is that our pedi is totally cool with crib bumpers...hmmmm.
Re: Question about how your baby sleeps...
Cooper has slept on his tummy since he was very very little. He's a terrible sleeper and it was the only way he would sleep at all. My pedi said that it was fine once he could roll and there was no need to go in and keep rolling him back over all night long. In fact I think he said that was "craziness." I just didn't mention the fact that I actually put DS down on his tummy...
**runs out of post before people start throwing stones**
If she can get herself in that position she is fine.
*throwing stones at Suzi*
BFP with no treatment!
Evan is a tummy sleeper too and has been since 4 1/2 months. The week before he started rolling over we had him swaddled and he would wiggle around and wake up every few hours. Our Pedi said that if he rolls over leave him that way because he will keep doing it.
Suzi is right, it is craziness.

We kept C swaddled until he was 5 months. It wasn't long after that he realized he was a belly sleeper. We never fought it unless I rolled too close to the bumper.
Now he's like a wild Indian at night - all over the crib. No idea where he'll be when he wakes up. We took the bumpers out a few weeks ago when he had some crazy stomach thing but I put it back in because he kept kicking the rails with his feet.
My girls have always slept on their sides. All three of them.
Samantha flipflops all over the bed at night now, but even before she could roll she was sleeping on her side with positioner until she started rolling over. Once she could roll over on her own, I took the positioner out (we had already stopped swaddling, she didn't like it.)
ditto.
I think your doctor is just saying what they are *supposed* to say and I wouldn't let it worry you too much.
