Holiday parties during the 2ww, if you don't plan on telling others that you are ttc. I really do not want to tell anyone we are ttc, until we have a BFP. I don't want the added pressure and the questions all the time. DH and i have his family Thanksgiving this weekend and his family always expects me to have a few cocktails. I will only be a few days DPO, but i really don't feel comfortable drinking during the 2ww. Next week we will have the same issue again. How are you all handling this?
Re: How will you handle..
BFP 12/10/10 - DD1 8/16/11
BFP 10/29/13 - c/p 11/2/13
BFP 11/29/13 - DD2 7/18/14
BFP 3/20/18 - DS1 due 12/2/18
If you really want to hide it, just carry around a glass of club soda with a garnish. It might fool them

Agree with all the PP's. Make a "cocktail" without the alcohol, or tell people that you are wanting to splurge on pie.
Lie.
This is totally not directed at you, OP (I promise), but I don't see what the big deal is with people giving themselves anxiety attacks over family seeing them not drinking.
There are a million things you can do to hide it. My favourite is that I had a headache (or migraine which is common for me) so I took some advil before everyone arrived. I'm not comfortable mixing meds and alcohol so I'm going to skip the drinks tonight.
You can always make yourself your own drinks. Gin and tonic? Skip the gin and no one will notice.
Having a beer? Bring it to the bathroom with you and dump it out. Then fill the bottle back up with water. Works like a charm.
You just have to get creative.

I have no problem with one drink sipped the whole night during the first half of the 2WW personally.
If you are going to a holiday party at a resturant tell the bartender just to give you cuba soda and cranberry or something of that nature in a fancy drink glass. They will always do it without asking any questions and you will fool everyone. If you have a private bartender for the party ask them to remember you and what you are drinking. I have done this before at holiday parties were I need to stay sober but the boss wants us to look like we are cutting loose so our clients feel comfortable ordering drinks.
I LOVE the "counting liquid calories" idea. That's great for a home party!
I am a big user of the "I have a migraine so one drink limit for me tonight"
TTC #2
Everything the PP said, plus you could also pull the designated driver card!
Personally I don't have a problem with having a glass of wine or two, and after that I would just switch to perrier. If parties are that wild, people won't remember or notice anyway!
