I've been feeling really "off" the last few days, and finally today decided to go to urgent care after work and after dealing with a fever for 36 hours. Turns out it's a REALLY good thing I did.
I guess I have a pretty serious kidney infection, for which they immediately gave me an IV of antibiotics. They said in recent years, they used to send pg women directly to the ER for that. Then they checked my white blood cell count. Again...high is 11, 15 is hospital bound, mine were at 14. The doctor tonight said if I hadn't come in until the morning, I would be spending the next 48 hours at the hospital. I'm SO glad I didn't wait and listened to myself that things weren't quite right.
Kiddo...I'm really looking forward to the day when you start kicking me in there to let me know you're okay! Jeesh.
Re: This kid is already causing far too much stress...and too many Dr. visits
So glad you followed your instincts!!!
Are you on meds now or anything?
Feel better soon L!

Yeah...some pregnancy-okay antibiotic. It was the second choice of my doc, she kind of went on a tirade about how this one is the best and all the research says so, but most pharmacies never carry it because they can charge more for the alternative...and BOY do they...it starts with an O
I am so glad you trusted your instincts. I had a similar thing happen when I was pregnant. I had a severe kidney infection but I was hospitalized because of it. I had extreme back pain, and they first thought it was kidney stones, but turned out to be an infection. No fun...
I hope you start feeling better soon!!! Lots of healthy vibes for the rest of your pregnancy!!
