What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

  • Ok, I think you can officially put me on the TTC list! We decided to start a little early..... Surprise

  • Any news or updates?

As I posted last night Caroline can now roll over back-belly and she looks pretty close to being able to go belly-back.  I think with a little more work, she'll be able to do it soon.  Last night when I put her on the floor to show DH, she just keep doing it.  It was so funny!  She literally rolled 4 times in 5 minutes.  She would get frustrated trying to get onto her back again and I would help her and a second later, she would be on her belly again.  It was hysterical.  For someone who hates being on her belly, I don't know why she keeps getting back on it.

She is also really good at holding and playing with toys.  She loves Sophie!  We're down to just stuffing one blanket around her in the exersauser, so maybe in a couple of weeks, she'll be able to go in without any blankets.  She is super cute when she squeals in delight and I'm really looking forward to the actual full on laughing to begin.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

We alternate holidays between our families so Thanksgiving is Bri's family holiday this year.  We're going to his aunt's house for dinner.  Me & Bri are running a 5K in the morning so my parents can watch Caroline while we do that so they'll still get to see her.

  • Update:  Ian is holding his tummy off the ground for longer and longer so I suspect crawling will be happening soon.  And Ian and I are flying solo to San Antonio this weekend to see my grandparents.  I'm hoping things go well and it doesn't wear both of us out too much.

QOTD:  Having it here with my Mum and her roommate.  Drew is still in Africa finishing up the Chevron project so it will be the second year in a row, he's over there for Thanksgiving.

  • Briley has been getting around pretty well by scooting on her tummy for about a month now, but yesterday she finally did some tummy off the ground crawling. She is also standing up in the crib, which is interesting because she can't get back down on her own. I go in there and she gets all happy, then when I lay her down and leave she gets so mad! It's cute and sad at the same time. Her favorite thing is to pull up on her bookshelf and take all the books off. She is so much fun Smile

    Good luck to the TTCers!

QOTW: We will celebrate Thanksgiving with my inlaws. DH is on call so he will probably end up having to work.

    Woohoo!!!!

  • I'm hanging in there. DH has been OOT for 2 weeks so I'm anxious for him to get back. I'm starting to not be able to tie my shoes and bend over to the ground. I can't beleive I still have 9 weeks! For Thanksgiving we will visit my FIL. He's getting older and has had some health issues.
  • Natalee - funny you would mention Sophie - Laker (our boxer) has been trying to kidnap her from our nursery. He totally wants to eat her. :(

Had my weekly check in yesterday with the OB. I was complaining about what I called ninja kicks in the croutch. She checked and sure enough the baby dropped lower since last week. She was also nice enough to open up her schedule the day before Thanksgiving so I could see her vs. another OB in the office. I did find out that the one OB I'm not a huge fan of will be on-call Thanksgiving weekend - - but I'm cool with this kid coming one way or another. Last night was horrible and I think I am finally having some contractors. Taking it easy today and hope to get some laundry done so I can finish packing the hospital bag.

Our Thanksginging plans are to stay around here. I picked up everything we need from Trader Joes yesterday including a pumpkin cheesecake that I am trying not to eat.

GOOD LUCK to all those TTCers. Sending lots of vibes to you all!!!

What's even funnier is that my mom constantly says how much Clinton (my parents' boxer-American bulldog mix) would love Sophie.  I so kindly remind her that it's a $20 teether so Clinton is not getting one.

    Yaaayyyy!!!!

Good luck to all our TTCers!!

I feel like I haven't participated in a check-in in a while, so here it goes.

I'm goign to start out positive because I'm feeling like a big zero right now.  So, Mari's cute as ever and has figured out how to roll the ball back and forth with me.  She got a new leap frog toy from a friend of ours and she enjoys spinning it - her hand/eye coordination is really amazing.  Her pinscher grasp is in full effect and right on the money.

Mari's sleeping is a hit or miss.  I noticed she was very restless on the monitor last night and by 12:30 she was up... and was extremely restless.  She punched and kicked and writhed for hours... all with her eyes closed. Until 5am.  The only way she would sleep is if I continued to rub her back or pat her...  I have no idea what that was all about...  She's on her regular napping schedule today although she seems a bit tired (ya think?).  I can't say that happens every night, but it's definitely close.

Mari hasn't  begun to crawl yet... not an army crawl, not a belly crawl, nada.  She has just started to lunge for things, but she doesn't understand that her hands are supposed to support her so she doesn't smash her face when she "lands."

Also, she loves standing, but I'm noticing that she doesn't make any movements like she's walking when she stands with me holding her hands...  and all of her "friends" do (yes, I know, no comparing babies, but I can't help it).

She also still doesn't roll back to belly.

    Should I start being concerned?

And for T-day, we're doing it here.  My parents and the outlaws are coming over.

  • Any news or updates? I just finished my first round of Clomid and now I'm on prescribed BD every other day until CD 20...that's what the prescription says...for real Smile

What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Stay home eat turkey and cuddle...oh and that is CD20, so there will be some BD as prescribed...hehehe

  • Caroline is just an extremely busy little girl.  She is constantly on the move.  Which is extremely exhausting for her mommy who is 29 weeks preggo!  On the upside, most days her naps are 2-3 hours long with a 3 1/2 hour long one thrown in there last week!  I do what my doc says and try to sleep part of the time when she naps.  I desperately need it.  I even managed to take a 2 hour nap a couple of days!  Heaven!  Jeremy taught her how to bump knuckles the other day and it's hilarious.  She loves to give high fives and bump knuckles.  I even caught her bumping knuckles with herself!  She also loves to be the tickle monster - complete with sound effects.  She tickles her babies' feet and today in the car she had taken her socks off and was tickling her own feet, sound effects and all.  She's also been singing more.  She "sings" a lot of the songs from her music class. She also watched the "All the Pregnant Ladies" video with me and has been doing the oh oh, oh oh oh chorus on her own.  I love her sense of humor and she cracks me up all the time.

As far as my pregnancy goes, I have definitely had a lot more aches and pains this time around.  I am so excited for Caroline's lil sis to get here.  We are going to have so much fun.  And I realized that on Christmas day I will be 35/35!

We are going to MIL's for Thanksgiving.  We're just driving up that day and I don't think we're staying over night - just a day trip.  Looking forward to some yummy turkey!

Good luck to all the TTCers!

  • good luck to those ttc

We also have a roller.  She went from her tummy to her back twice yesterday and again twice today.  But she wont do it for the camera.  It is our anniversary this week so we are going away for the night to Niagara Falls.  So another trip to the states for this little one.

  • Seeing that the expecting list is all Team Greens and Team Pinks, I'm wondering how many of the greens will be blues and if any of the TBD's will be blues.  We need some more boys to balance out all our beautiful girls!

And for T-day, we're doing it here.  My parents and the outlaws are coming over.

No.  Don't be concerned.  K doesn't roll back to belly.  I think she can, she won't.  She hates her belly.  Put her in the crawling position.  She rolls directly to her back.  She hates it.  So there is no crawling motion going on over here either.  Count your blessings, lady.  She stays where you put her for a little bit longer.

If it makes you feel any better, there is only one baby in my mommy and me group that is between 6-9 months that is crawling.  And he isn't even really crawling, he is army crawling.  There are 5 of us with babies in that age group too.  I think Mari is just fine.

As for Miss K.  She is just being cute.  Pulling up on things.  And hanging out.  Today we have a friend over, an almost 11 month old crawler.  I am sure I am in over my head here.  I have her until 5.  I am sure this will really solidify my decision to only have one baby.  I am crossing my fingers and toes that Timm comes home early and gets to see what it is like to have two kids at the same time.  And hopefully that will cure his BTOB.   No more of this wanting to TTC #2 in 4 months.  She is a really easy baby too.  I have had her for three hours and I haven't even heard her cry.  She didn't spill one piece of food on the floor.  And she entertained herself in the exersaucer for 5-10 minutes while I got K down for her nap.  Then laid right down in the packnplay and is now sleeping.

I am sitting on the couch eating an orange and bumping until they wake up.  I totally should be cleaning the house though.

  • Any news or updates?

As I posted the other day Gianna is officially a crawler...and boy can she move lol...she is also pulling up on things, and as of today sat in a seated position from a crawl position.....One of my saddest moments in going back to work was to think she will start something new at my inlaws and they would have to tell me about it....(I want to be the one to see her do something first lol), but DH said to me today "see look at all the new things she is showing you this week before you go back to work"....I was so excited :)
I go back to work on Thursday, so my SAHM days are over.....but I know she is in good hands and she only needs to be with someone other than DH or myself 3 days a week, so I know how truly fortunate I am...

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Usually Thanksgiving is spent with DH's family, so I believe it will be at either my inlaws house or my BIL's house this year.....If it is at my inlaws that I can sneak over to my parents house for dessert since they live about 5 mins from one another, but if it is at my BIL house he lives 2 hours from me, so I would not get to see my family....But this is the only holiday that I do not usually get to see my family for....

Big Smile Good luck to Normailed and everyone else TTC. Get it on, girls!

Updates: Not much new. I worked overnight last night and wheeled out the US machine to get some candids. Not as pretty as the professionals, but it was fun to see little one moving around in there. We find out the sex on Dec 3rd. I'm getting impatient.

MIL is coming for Turkey Day. I'm a lucky girl--she's delightful. I always enjoy her  visits.

  • Updates: Nathan is still all over the place, he takes small steps but you can tell he gets nervous and then tumbles down.  It is the cutest thing ever.  He loves to dance, clap his hands, and he is eating EVERYTHING.  He refuses to eat if he can't feed himself so the battles are beginning.

QOTW: We don't get to celebrate Thanksgiving here officially.  A lot of the American Expats are getting together next Sunday and having a big turkey dinner, but it's not the same...so I"m still iffy on going.

  • Well my big news is Phoebe rolled over for the first time this morning.  Chris got home on Friday and this morning I took Rowen to school and left him with Phoebe.  Well when I got home Chris said, "I see tummy time isn't working out very well lately because she just keeps rolling over on her back."  I was like, "WHAT?!?!  She rolled over!?"  He said she kept doing it every time he put her on her tummy.  So I tried and over she went.

Our plans for Thanksgiving are going to the in laws in PA.  I'm actually really excited and hope that my SIL will have her baby before then.  Her due date was Sunday so any day now!

  • I had a dehydration episode last night (room spinning, throwing up, realized I hadn't had to pee much yesterday/last night, and my skin is really tight and dry). I've had lots of water today, so I'm hoping it's better before my appointment this Thursday. Since Sunday, I've noticed that Kari has started to drop. I doubt it's anything drastic, but a few people have noticed other than me. She is definitely crotch-kicking me with her movements, so I'm going to mention that to the doctor. I realized I'll be 37 weeks on December 14th, so I just need to hold on to her for 4 more weeks and then it's fair game I suppose.

Thanksgiving plans: The 25th is my birthday. We'll be eating dinner at one of DH's grandparents' house, and do something with my family too.

  • things are going well - lots of movement.  Its funny to watch my stomach morph into shapes and move around.  I'm starting to get really tired and just a heavy feeling halfway through the work day.  Its like I'm carrying around a watermelon by the afternoon.  Both the showers are over, and I've made some exchanges and I think we have everything we need now except for a swing!  Its so fun to start putting everything together.

Thanksgiving... we eat early at DH's family and then go to my parents late for a snack and dessert.  They live within 20 minutes so its easy enough (right now at least) to hit both families.

Good luck to the TTCers and to Natalee & Bri in the 5k on tgiving day!

  • Update: K is practicing for his school's winter concert so he is singing Jingle Bells constantly. I have his parent-teacher conference on Thursday and I'm very curious what his teacher is going to say. It's hard because they had him "skip a grade". He is in the Pre-K room full of almost 5 year olds and he's 3 and a half. I am glad he's challenged but I know he is not writing letters as well as his peers. I hope she realizes that's because he is a year younger than everyone else! As for IVF, I start shots next week. I had my shot instruction last night and DH had to practice giving me one in the hip. It didn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought. QOTW: We still haven't figured it out. It's always a battle between us and our families! Cris- My advice would be when in doubt, ask her doc. I always asked and some times there was nothing wrong and sometimes there was (like his sleep apnea). It never hurts to ask and get reassurance or a head start at fixing the problem! Lots of love!

  • Reese is laughing more & more each day, & it is absolutely hysterical.  She gets into total giggle fits, which crack me up.  She has still been rolling from tummy to back sporadically, but nothing consistent yet.  She is working hard on getting from back to belly.  She gets closest when she's in her crib & her paci falls out & she's trying to get it back.  As I posted earlier this week, she isn't really sleeping well.  I'm hoping that ends soon.  I am exhausted.

QOTW:  We are having T-giving dinner with my parents on Wednesday night.  Thursday at noon, we go to MIL's side of the family.  At 5, we go to FIL's side.  On Saturday, we get together with my mom's family.  Yes, that's right, 4 Thanksgivings.

Woohoo!  Good luck to you & all of the other TTCers!

  • Good luck to all of our TTC - ers!!!!

Mady is doing somersaults tonight.  It's starting to get more difficult to move around.  I think I'm starting to get the third tri tiredness as well.  (Yes, I'm officially in the third trimester now.)

Still finializing a paint color for Mady's room.  Once that's done and Brett's parents come back from FL, we'll start on the nursery.  I can't wait.

As for Thanksgiving, as far as we know, we have no plans.  I thought his Mom would have invited us by now, but, I think she thinks I might host.  Um, maybe next year.  We'll see what happens.

  • Sorry I'm so late but here's my update:

Any news or updates? Nia is 3 months old now and laughing a lot and making so many vocalizations. You can see a video of her laughing here (and yes, I look like an idiot trying to get her to laugh!). Sometimes I swear she's gonna suddenly start speaking. We decided to start CDing (following the Young House Love post) and get our stash in two days (great sale on bumGenius right now at Cotton Babies). We've also started teaching her baby sign language now that she's 3 months old. She's so interested and stares as though she understands. She's much more interested in her hands now too and holding them that we think it's perfect timing. I still take her out and about around NYC am wearing her facing me now in the Moby which she loves. She really enjoys the subway especially, although tonight on the way home from a church event she had a meltdown, but I used the white noise on my BlackBerry and she fell fast asleep!

What are your plans for Thanksgiving? My family has a major obsession with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (we've gone multiple times over the years even when I didn't live in NYC) so they're coming yet again but are banned from staying with us so they'll be in a hotel. One of my other sisters also lives in Manhattan so we'll all meet up and go to the parade then head to NJ to eat at my BIL's GF's family's house. Kinda awkward I think, but she came to our wedding and has assured us it's ok for all 8 of us to come. As long as I'm not cooking it's good! DH still wants me to cook traditional Thanksgiving just for the two of us though later that weekend b/c he likes the dishes I make and he wants lots of leftovers so we'll see.
