Most of the photographers in the Chicago area will charge that (or more) just for a session/sitting fee and then it is even more to buy the CD of prints or order prints.
Have you tried to go to any of the Photo Studios at stores? Buy Buy Baby? Sears? JC Penney? They all have photo departments and typically you can get the seating fee waived and get a ton of prints for under $50. Just a thought.
We used Laurie Peacock and she was wonderful. However, her fee is higher than $100. I think we paid around $400. We also have Katie Ryan scheduled to come out next week. I have heard great things. She is more reasonable, I think the session (and DVD of photos) is around $250.
Have you tried Picture People? Or Portrait Innovations? They are inexpensive and do a good job.
You should check out Christy Tyler photography. She did our save the date, engagement pictures, wedding pictures and we can't wait to have her do our newborn pictures.
I recommend www.2sisphotos.com Their prices are higher than you are asking about, but they do offer mini-sessions this time of year I definitely suggest checking them out!
We used Pete for our maternity pictures too, and he is amazing!!! A wonderful guy, a talented photographer and he will work with you on the pricing. Here are some pics (assuming I can post them correctly, may require editing on my post):

I can't believe Katie Ryan charged $250!
There are much better photogs in the area for a much more reasonable rate.
