Black Friday shopping question

I've never been Black Friday shopping, at least not specifically to get great deals. Usually I've avoided going out shopping on that day due to the crowds. I've decided to give it a try, specifically planning to go to Toys R Us. Is it pointless to try to get sale items if I wouldn't get there till 10 a.m.? (there is no way I'm shopping at 5 a.m.).

It honestly depends on if its something that a lot of other people are looking for too. ToysRus opens at like 10pm on thursday so they might be pretty picked over by 10am. Its def worth a try, because there are some items i've been worried about selling out in years past but then it surprises me and the things dont sell out as fast as i was worried then would.

I didn't catch that they were opening at 10 p.m. on Thursday. Maybe I could do 10 p.m.

Wow, that's an ambitious place to shop your first Black Friday out! It's kind of like going to the Fairgrounds Consignment sale your first time out. If doors open at 10pm, then people will begin lining up at least two hours earlier. Same applies for the morning openings. A 6am opening has people already in line by 3:30-4am. The crowds are crazy right at opening too. If you still really want your bargain that bad, know what it's going to be like going into it. ;-)

Sadly there will still be a huge line at 10pm esp at TRU. If yuore planning to go Id plan to go first thing. Youll be home bf anyone else is out of bed

Have fun...Im already making my list. Although its mainly going to be Cmas deco, Im buying most everything else online this year.

Hmm...this is starting to bring back my feelings of not wanting to deal with the crowds just to save $15, etc. I think I'll search around more before deciding to head out. I'm already getting a headache just thinking about it Stick out tongue

Haveyou thought of doing Cyber Monday shopping??? Also, TRU had been having lots of sales these last weeks. We've already picked up quite a few things for Christian. We are signed up for their rewards emails, and lots of times they have unmarked deals only for rewards members. Just read the ad carefully. We wanted to get a toy for C that was on sale, but the sale price was only from 3pm-10pm on Fri and 6am-12pm on Sat.

Honestly I never wanted to go either. BUT last year I went alone. Which to me was 100% worth it. I knew what I wanted, I was one person and I could maneuver my way to get where i needed too. Bc then I had ot hurry up to get in line.

I know it sounds like a lot but you do have to really like shopping. Its not really the deals for me. I just like to shop....so really its an excuse to get out and do it. I always find soemthing I need though

I think TRU opened at 11 or midnight last year and my dad and I went. When we got there shortly before opening the line was outside all the way down the whole shopping center. We turned around and left.

BRU has a bigger selection of toys than they used to so I actually got a few things at BRU that Friday afternoon when I shopped.

TRU will be crazy, they are organizing the crowds and limiting the # of people who can be inside at once. Their best sales will start at 10p, but they have more starting at 5am. BRU doesn't open until 5 and won't have as much, but they are not that crazy there. I think I'll be working at TRU and I'm a little nervous!!!!
