so....I get BAD period cramps when AF is around....like lightning crotch, stop dead in your tracks, can't talk/breathe kind of cramps. always have. This is my 1st pregnancy and the lightning crotch I've had thus far (baby sits very low) is not as bad as LC during my periods.
Anyone in the same boat?
anyone find any correlation/relationship between strength/intensity of AF cramp/LC/contractions???
(I know it is different for everyone, just looking for a trend.....)
TIA!!!
Re: ? 4 2nd+ timers w/ bad periods- LC & contractions
When labor started, the cramps did feel like period cramps, maybe just a teeny bit less. It did eventually get worse.
I wouldn't say that my periods would make me curl up in pain, but I did have to take ibuprophen every time.
I actually did a poll like this on one of the baby boards a while back, because my labor was so incredibly painful (kind of like hell had opened up around me) that I can't imagine ANYONE ever feeling menstrual cramps like that. The general consensus was that labor was much, much worse than menstrual cramps - even bad ones!
I think early labor could be similar. During early labor (until I was maybe 4cm dilated?) I was all like "wow this hurts but I can totally handle this". Then things changed...
I dont think theres a huge correlation except that you may have more of an idea of the type of pain if you have bad cramps.
I had light periods my whole life so I was shocked by the type of pain that labor is. Excruciating (sorry dont want to lie to you). Its terrible.
thanks ladies!
My mom had rough periods and she delivered my bro and I un-medicated...with my bro she thought she had a backache and did most of the work just leaning on the bathroom counter!!! she was in transition by the time she got to the hospital and he arrived only 45 min later.
anyone else?!?!
