I started my 100mg last night about 7pm. Well by 815pm I couldn't keep my eyes open. It was like I took benadryl. I went to bed around 9pm and around 1am woke up soaked. Weird!
Anyway, I know I shouldn't be reading too much online bc too much information can drive me a little bonkers. But I have read that some people had the s/e where Clomid made their cycles super long. Also, others were saying that Clomid is most successful on women who are annovulatory or have PCOS, and that for people who O on their own, Clomid isn't that successful. And that made me upset. Because I know I do O on my own, just later in my cycle than my RE would like.
I know this question gets asked a million times, but what was your experience with Clomid and were you happy with the follies you produced when taking it?

Re: Can we discuss Clomid please
Get off the Interwebs. What's important is how you respond to your dosage, per your monitoring.
My cycles were, at most, 3 days longer on Clomid.
I ovulated on my own, but the dr wanted to 1) improve my ovulation and 2) time it more accurately.
I was on it 3 times. Got pg on the second round, but it ended in m/c. I had some hot flashes and mood swings, and it made my breast cyst huge and painful. Other than that it was fine--no vision issues, lining problems, or hyperstimmulation.
On the one cycle where I was monitored, I had 2 follicles.
My first cycle of Clomid was the hardest. Got all sorts of crazy and hormonal. I O'd maybe one or two days late. I did have the largest number of mature follies...4, but my lining never got higher than 8 or 9 mm. I think.
The lining was better in subsequent cycles, but the number of follies was down. And I didn't experience the crazies as bad.
GL
I had hot flashes and night sweats (those sucked). Headaches. Didn't get any more moody than normal like some do. However, the headaches and night sweats lasted the entire cycle - not just while taking clomid.
I had 2 follies that were mature right around CD13ish. Which was way early for me since my usual O was around CD22.
Lining was only 5. Once I got on injectibles, lining was always 12. (RE said according to "textbook" it needs to be a minimum of 6 to sustain implantation of a fertilized egg.... but she'd seen one case of a 4.8 getting KU. I didn't want to risk it - cancelled my clomid IUI)
I should add that I did clomid CD3-7 with one repronex shot on CD9 (I guess as a boost or something?)

Thanks ladies. Sorry to post and run, our biz lunch appt came early.
I do get a bit nervous about the lining s/e that Clomid sometimes has. My RE's office said if I go in on CD12 (for my monitoring u/s) and my lining is low, they give me a patch. Hmm.
But thanks again for the feedback. I know STTTC is not the busiest board but I do know over the years that you all have been a great resource for good information on these things.

The cycle I got pregnant, the RE put me on Estrace after my CD 12 u/s. Its a nasty blue vag pill, but it made my lining awesome.
Nikki thanks! (ps do you remember me? It's 10yearstogether/FarmvilleLover)
Ok question - if there are things like blue vag pills and skin patches to help lining, why is it such a big deal that a s/e of Clomid is a thinned lining? Or I guess it's just a big deal in my head.
I seriously need to stop reading so many msg boards (outside of Snarky, naturally)

My RE basically said once it was that thin that close to O, there was pretty much nothing we could do. Maybe other things are preventative to be pro-active before it gets too thin. (?)

I o on my own and with 25 mg of clomid plus a couple months of metformin I had two or three fully mature follies and a handful of others that may or may not have "popped" with the trigger.
I ended up pregnant w/ twins.
"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
stac - I asked that question and they said no. Well, I'll just hope for the best I guess!
Mandy - it sounds like you are a good responder. GL to you moving forward!

I did four rounds of clomid. I O'd on my own, but the RE added it after two unsuccessful unmedicated IUIs. My body started reacting wonky to it, though. BUT, I had success!
First cycle was IUI + 100 mg clomid CDs 5-9. I got PG but had an early m/c.
Next cycle was 100 mg clomid CDs 5-9. I went in for an u/s on CD 13 so we could plan when to trigger, and I had JUST ovulated on my own. My RE said we could try the IUI but it would probably be a waste of $$$. We had sex but no dice.
Next cycle was 100 mg clomid CDs 5-9. I went in for an u/s on CD 11, and I had JUST ovulated AGAIN. My RE said, "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!" So the IUI was canceled again, we had sex again, didn't get PG again, I got pissed, and I made an appointment with another RE for a consult. The new RE was like "that is very unusual!" and thought I should stop taking clomid. However, I had already started my 4th clomid cycle with my original RE (because it took a while to get in with the new RE).
4th cycle was 50mg CDs 3-7. I went in for an u/s on CD 9 and I had two mature follies, so the RE triggered and we did an IUI the following afternoon. I got PG with DD.
So, I think clomid helped me, even though I reacted weird to it. I don't know why, but both IUIs w/out clomid didn't work, and both IUIs with clomid did work.
