i went through this with DS. it was not fun! I was at my breaking point more than once because of it. he did it A LOT when he had teeth breaking through. and still does occasionally when teeth are coming through. DS was not a passy kid before, and that was the only thing i could come up with that helped us. i tried frozen cloths. i tried cold wet cloths. i tried teethers. i tried telling him no. i tried telling him no, putting him down and walking away. none of that worked for us. in the end what worked was turning him into a passy kid (which i'm not proud of). not that i have a problem with passies, i actually think they are rather cute. i never wanted to have to deal with breaking a kid from a passy.
i just kept a pacifier close and whenever he bit i would give it to him, tell him no and tell him to use his passy. it took about a week, but he stopped biting. but now, he needs a passy handy at all times. solves one problem, but creates another. but i'll take the passy over the bitin anytime. that hurt!
