ds upset during diaper change

my ds gets upset about 90% of the time when he's laid down to get a diaper change. he hasn't always been like this; it started w/in the last couple of months. if your LO is like that, what have you done that has worked to keep them content while changing them?

    I have about 10 toys lined up to use ....he needs something in his hands to keep him occupied and 90% if DH and I are both around it helps to have the other person talking to him to keep him distracted!!! Very frustrating changing clothes and diapers on a mobile child!

    this. getting into jammies + diapers before bed is such a production. DH does wacky shenanigans while I try to get him changed. Tickling helps too.

    It helps to give him a toy, or something that he's interested in.  Sometimes DS likes holding his hair brush or a board book.  Also, his daycare has a mirror by the changing table so they're a little distracted.

    DD just started doing this a few weeks ago. Sometimes toys/noisy toys work, talking and singing to her. But the past few days she has been horrible every single diaper change and nothing works. It takes more than 5 minutes to change her.

    Mine started doing the same thing a couple of months ago too. I have these little books that have pop-ups on each page and give her one as soon as I lay her down. They work like a charm; they keep her entertained for that short period of time.

    Sometimes DD is content with a toy, but I've found with both DS and DD that maintaining as much eye contact as I can and singing the Alphabet song works well.

    thanks ladies! it just seems like such a production when i'm changing the diaper. to the PP that talked about diaper change + jammies....whew, we are there too. ds gets super grumpy when he gets laid down after his bath for that stuff.

    DS screams bloody murder -- the neighbours must think I'm torturing him!

    I pull out all my tricks...toys, tickles and singing songs. Most of the time they work, but occasionally he works himself into such a fit I sometimes have to stop what I am doing entirely and give him a quick cuddle until he calms down.
