Cleaning out their noses

Ok so we have been bulb surenging (sp) our girls noses and the darn thing is just too big. Any idea on what else we can get all those boogy's out with.

when they are congested they tend to spit up..

help!

    Andrew gags like crazy when he's congested, so we got an electric snot sucker from Amazon. Works so great.  Way better than the old fashioned bulb sucker.

    A friend of mine uses Saline mist on her preemie.  She said her Pedi told her too much bulb sryinge...and their nostrils get swollen....

    I use the saline mist and its great!  They fuss...but if you immediately feed them a bottle after you mist/spray then they will swallow the salty saline.  My LOs seem to "clear up" after I use the mist.  So far... I've not needed to use it more than 1x a day.

    You can get it at the drug store.... or BRU.  you want the "mist".  I tried it (up my nose).... LOL....so I would know what it was like for them.... it wasn't bad.

    Ditto the motorized nasal aspirator. it's faster, more efficient and less trauma. We got one from walgreen's recently for 20$.....BAD green runny nose recently here, and we don't know how to blow our nose yet, it was a life safer.
