Hi all
Talk me down off the edge. Is this cause for concern?
We feed my daughter on demand, rather than on a schedule (long story). Each night we do the following
5 pm - 4 oz bottle with 1 1/2 tsp Oatmeal cereal
6:30 pm - 2 oz bottle with 1/2 tsp oatmeal cereal
7:30 OR 8 pm - 4 oz bottle with 1 1/2 tsp oatmeal cereal
She then sleeps from 8:30 pm till 3:30 am, sometimes as late at 4:30 am without a peep or crying that she's hungry until that time. She is a very slow eater too.
Some back story - she can't handle formula or rice cereal. And due to her reflux and the need to thicken the BM she receives, that is why she has oatmeal cereal.
So is she sleeping too long? She's not screaming or waking and I do check on her around 11:30 pm nightly, when I go to pump.
Do I have a reason to worry?
Re: Good or bad - sleep related
I wouldn't worry. We also feed DD on demand and I let her sleep as long as she'd like to. I just constantly go in and check on her(we also have a monitor), but I don't get her out of bed unless she starts to fuss because sometimes she wakes up for a second and goes right back to sleep.
Looks like your LO is starting to create her own schedule and starting to STTN. That's great! My DD has slept 8 hours once and I was pretty excited.
Our pedi said as long as they gain weight each appt. let them sleep as long as they want at night. Yay! she is sleeping so well
My Kate is a slow feeder... takes her 45 min.+ to drink her bottle....
