Do you think kids at this age will overeat? My son never seems to turn his head. I'll give him a handful of puffs/cereal, 1/3 jar of cubed apples or carrots, a jar of 6 oz stage 3 dinner, and a few ritz crackers or a teething biscuit. Then maybe within the hour he's wanting to try what we are eating for dinner. He never is not interested in eating. We feed him breakfast, then a snack, lunch, snack, and dinner. Snack could mean bottle or fruit/veggies and crackers.
Re: Eating too much
Is he always like this or is it a recent occurrence. Around 11 months to a year my DS ate like a grown man. He would eat a whole grilled cheese sandwich, diced apples, raisins and dried blueberries, and a yogurt just for lunch. It was the amount of food an adult would eat.
He has definitely slowed down on his food intake now. I think it's perfectly normal for them to want to try new foods as well. Think about it this way- even if you ate a large supper an hour before, you'd probably want a taste of a dessert if one was offered or you saw someone eating one.
If he really jumps up in the percentile chart at his 12 month appt, it may be something to talk about. In that case you may want to give him more fruit and less crackers or teething biscuits. Also, make sure he is getting plenty of "exercise." I'm not sure if your LO is walking yet, but DS loves going to open gym and playing on all of the equipment.
I LOVE MY THREE KIDS!
