Babies: 3 - 6 Months

when did 4 month wakeful start for you?

I know, I know..stupid question..but really...when did it start?? Lol.. was it on point? Was it a week before? A week after? Does 3 month wakeful exist?? I swear for the past 5 days..I have been up EVERY HOUR!! I usually am the one who wakes up at night to feed..but it has been so bad I had to wake DH up to be up with DS. Id be lucky to even have an hour and a half of straight sleep..

  • About a week ago. He turns 4 month on the 23rd so about 2 weeks early. And yes it's still going on. And YES IT IS VERY REAL.
  • Ours started around 3.5mos and just started to get better in the last few days. Although now she is refusing to be laid down....one thing after another :)

It's been going on for over two weeks now. If you want to torture yourself you can read my last few blog posts. Start with the post 'sleep strike' and work your way up. I'll warn you though it's not too encouraging.

  • DD is almost 5 months old and still sleeps through the night and takes several naps during the day. The 4 month wakeful may not happen for you.

  • We haven't experienced it yet. Maybe we'll skip it? Wishful thinking...
  • It hasn't yet.  I think she gets it at daycare and doesn't want to nap there (never really has though) since they say she doesn't want to miss anything.  I guess it is the same concept of increased awareness = decreased sleep.  If we put her somewhere alone though she is fine.
  • about a month ago and still going strong!
  • It only happened 2 nights in a row 2 days before turning 4mo. If you LO is just 3mo it may be the 3mo growth spurt. DS was up for about 4 days in a row at 3 mo old until the spurt was over. he just wanted to wake up and eat though then went right back to sleep. At 4 mo DS was up (just 2 nights) babbling and talking until I gave him a bink then he went back to sleep.

  • It may have been that a last week. But his sleep has never been reliable. It has gotten better this week though. He regressed back to waking up every hour. ick

  • Right on the day she turned 4 months... DD was born on her due date, so she's usually right on time on everything else too... Huh?
