BF babies that poop every 4-5 days

My pedi says this is okay but on day 4 or 5 I can tell when he's getting ready to poop because he is SOOO uncomfortable. It will take 24-36 hours of being uncomfortable before he poops. Is this common?

    Very common.   Babies use up more of breast milk than formula so there's not as much waste to excrete.

    DS used to poop every 5 days until a few weeks ago.  I honestly don't remember - he was always super gassy the day or two leading up to the poop, but I don't think he was super uncomfortable.  But he can be kind of a fuss monster anyway so maybe I just realize?  I'm sure it wasn'tcomfortable for him but how much, I'm not sure.

    DS only poops about once per week, but I've never noticed him getting uncomfortable because of it.  It doesn't seem to bother him at all...

    DD seems to have a little bit of poop in most diapers- but rarely a big poop- I was wondering if I should be concerned but one of the nurses said she is likely using up everything she is eating...

    DD goes once every 7-10 days since about 6 weeks old! Pedi said totally normal because DD is absorbing the BM more efficiently & leaves little waste.

    ETA - DD#1 pooped all.the.time and was EBF.  That is why I was so worried at first when DD#2 went so long in between.

    So if my LO still goes multiple times a day does that mean he does not absorb nutrients efficiently? I always wonder this when I see these posts.
