So my husband called, and the receptionist said to call when we come home from the hospital and make an appointment for 3-5 days after we get home. Is that what you were told? Seems like a long time to wait, when you have no idea what you're doing!
We have to have a pediatrician to leave the hospital. I'm meeting with her December 1st to ask questions, but our first appointment will be 2-3 days after we come home from the hospital.
We were told 2-3 days after leaving the hospital, but I think it also depends on who sees your LO while there. Our Ped is coming to the hospital when LO is born so I wouldn't be surprised if she changes it to 3-5 days.
The pediatrician comes to the hospital to check out the baby. Alternatively, we could use the in-house hospital pediatrician. Then the pediatrician wants to see the baby in their office within a couple days post-checkout. With DD, we checked out on a Thursday and her pedi wanted to see her on Friday - I think because she her weight had gone down a good bit. (I forget the specifics.)
Our ped comes to the hospital to do the initial well baby check. Then its their policy to see LO everyday the first week of life. IDK know if your ped is waiting longer than usual or my ped is over cautious or what.
I give up trying to get a ticker. I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome. Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself. Hmmm. How about...

Ours said to call when we leave the hospital and LO will be seen within the next few days. I assume that's normal. I forget how soon we saw them with DD.
