I'm wondering if the pain will be less this time because half my stomach is still numb from the 1st one! (well, that's what it seems like anyways)
First c/s was planned also- I did go into labor beforehand, but didn't get far and no pushing, so not like I had to recoup from that too!
I'm just nervous about having a toddler at home this time and trying to do things! TIA!
Re: Repeat c/s mamas... easier recovery?
I had my 2nd c-section this summer and it was a breeze compared to the 1st! My friends were astonished I was standing and holding my 2 yr old up to see the new baby in the hospital. The first time my doctor used staples and this time she used dissolvable stitches and I think that made a big difference for me. I didn't realize they actually cut off your first scar and dispose of it. I thought they just cut through it and staple it back up. With my first I couldn't even stand up straight for weeks. This time I hardly had to take pain meds when I got home.
I think it helped this summer in the hospital that I took the Motrin before I was in big time pain. It helped me get on my feet quicker to not be doubled over in pain. Last time I tried to not take much and I think it hurt my recovery. No being the hero this time around!!
Good luck to you! I hope you have the same luck that I did :-)
