I stopped BC in Aug. after being on it for 15 years due to highly irregular periods. My GYN told me I would have difficulty conceiving and should really try hard the first three months off BC due to the possibility of ovulating and being regular. First month DH and I just went with it and had fun. BFN followed and I just got more determined. OPK's followed and on CD 25 I finally O'd! AF just arrived following four (yes 4) BFN because I am so impatient. Now I'm obsessing! It's ironic I spent my whole life trying NOT to get KU and now that it's the only thing I want it seems impossible!

Welcome and good luck! I do think trying for 3 months after stopping BC is not realistic. Some women take longer to regulate their hormones after stopping BC than 3 months, and at best you have about a 20% chance of getting pregnant every month. On top of that, all the books say it can take a normal, healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant.
There are lots of good information on these boards and even on Getting Pregnant board on thenest.com. They'll all recommend for you to start charting your temperature. Just because your OPK says you had an LH surge to O doesn't mean it was successful. A temp increase the day after you O will confirm that. The OPK just confirms an LH surge.
And you're not the only one who POAS/PIAC multiple times prior to AF. Many girls do it! Welcome to the club!
