Birthday party time? Lunch or no lunch?

If you received an invite to a 1st birthday party from 1pm-3pm....would you assume there was going to be food / lunch of some type....or just cake?

I would definitely expect food, even if it was just snacks/appetizers.

well, ours is at 1:00 and we are just doing cake and drinks..

At 1pm, I would think there would be food. If you started it at 2pm, I would think no food.

At 1pm, I would think there would at least be finger food. Our party is at 12pm and I'm picking up a few pre-made sandwich/veggie/fruit platters.

I would think no lunch with a time of 1-3. If it were me, I'd probably eat at least a little something before I went to the party so that way if there wasn't any lunch, I wouldn't be starving by the time the party is over.

Our party is 1-4pm and I wrote on the invite "our little cupcake is turning 1 come for Pizza and some fun!

Forgot to add- whatever you do, make sure you specify on the invitation! Ours is at 2pm and I am telling guests "light snacks and cake will be served." You never want guests to have to guess if they should eat before hand.
