[whine] turns out i'm an idiot.

i've had a 103 fever for over 3 days that Ibuprofen doesn't touch.  I've been so depressed because i couldn't see John in the NICU.  (i couldn't even walk to the bathroom on my own.)  Turns out its mastitis.  It will take a few days to recover with antibiotics, but if i had been paying attention and started the antibiotics right away i could have seen him the next day. GRRRRRRR!

    I'm so sorry. Hang in there. Hopefully you will start to feel better soon so you can see your baby boy.

    If your mastitis reoccurs or doesn't seem to be getting better with the antibiotics please, please, PLEASE let your doctor know.

    I wound up with a breast abscess at 5 weeks post-partum because the pumping wasn't working out. I should have known something was wrong besides a blocked duct, but I was so wrapped up in DD that I put it off. I had to have surgery to remove the abscess, had nurses coming to the house for 6 weeks to drain it, was on serious narcotic/antibiotic combos to the point of not being able to care for DD (let alone pump), and was generally very sick.

    Take care of yourself. I know that in the moment it's all about LO but you will really be of no use to them if you neglect your own health.
