Vtech MobiGo vs FP iXL Learning System

I dont know much about either, but DH's dad is looking to get one for DD and I dont know which one to tell him to get. What does each do? If you have seen both, which do you like better, or which does your child prefer? Both get good reviews on line.

    we are getting Allison the IXL.  I went with that one because she loves to practice her numbers and letters.  I'm also think she will love having pictures and music on it.

    Any reason you're not looking at the Leapster Explorer too?

    I was torn between all 3.

    I went with the Mobigo. First, it looks slightly more like a "computer" which is what DD is asking for. Second, I thought the iXL seemed a little more complicated to use and third, I liked the screen on the mobigo better.  But both of those are just based on playing with the store model for about 1 minute, so who knows?!? Oh, and the mobigo is cheaper.
