Christians birthday is on Dec18. I am due Dec 19. We ate planning a party for C the weekend before his B-day because of this. I don't want to do the party at he, so we are considering the Museum of Natural Sciences. The problem is they only allow 12 kids (including the b-day kid) to attend. C is in preschool and he attends 5 days a week. He has 12 kids in M-W-F and 12 different kids in the T-TH class. Would it be rude to either a) invite only kids from M-W-F or b) only invite some kids--the ones C plays with the most?
I've called the museum, and I'm waiting fir a call-back to see if they can accommodate extra kids and what the cost wil be, but I want a backup plan.
Also. If you have ant ideas for a birthday party for 3-4 year olds, I'd love some!! We have been to 3 jump parties, so I don't want to one of those....
Re: Birthday party WWYD
Holly will only be 2, but we're doing My Gym this year. I took her to a class on Saturday and she loved it. Our second option was Marbles. The Town of Cary also has some b'day party packages that looked cute.
I know what you mean about the daycare issue. We also want to invite all of Holly's classmates (7) since they're her best friends, plus a couple of kids who used to be in her class but moved up (3) then our friends and their kids, then family... and, well, you get the idea. I was bound and determined to not go crazy on expensive b'day parties, but there's also no way I could have 20+ toddlers and everyone else in my house! So.. once again, I'm eating my words.
ETA: To answer your question about DC--of course it's not a written rule that you HAVE to invite all the kids, but it seems customary at our school, at least. Then again, we have half the kids to consider with only 7 others in her class. If you're going to go all out, I'd say invite them all. If you want to keep it small--I'd go ahead and choose the ones he's really close with. I'd just be worried about hurting feelings, but then again, I always over-worry about stuff like that!
