Poll: Is LO Still Drinking From a Bottle?

Re: Poll: Is LO Still Drinking From a Bottle?

  • Yes. She takes a sip or two out of her sippy with every meal, but she's not into it at all. She still loves the bottle.

  • Yep. And he even refuses to hold his own bottle! I know the little stinker can do it, he's just choosing not to. When I feed him, he'll lay there with his arms all splayed out. The pedi said it's just a case of stubborness...Hmmm...I wonder where he gets that from! (and it's not me!)

  • LOL, she drinks one sippy cup a day and the rest are all bottles.  Embarrassed
  • yes but in a couple of weeks we are going to work on going to all cups!!!  should be fun!!!
  • He still gets bottles, but he gets some out of a sippy everyday. I'm trying to phase out bottles and phase in whole milk @ the same time.

  • Yup. He drinks water out of a sippy cup at every meal, but still does 4 bottles a day.

  • Yes, bottles still but whever possible we do the sippy cup. DD won't use the hard sippy cups yet. At least we can cheat with her Nuby bottle that has a sippy nipple and she drinks from it.

  • Yup, all formula is in bottles, and water at meals is in a sippy.  We've tried formula in a sippy, and she just gags.  My sister said my niece was the same way, but when she switched to whole milk, it wasn't an issue.  Honestly, flame away, but I'm gonna bet we'll keep the bed time bottle.  She doesn't use it to fall asleep, but it's our snuggle time.  I love it, and I know she'll let me know when she's over it.
  • Yep, still bottle. we are trying diff sippys but he just plays with them. I guess we should really push it...

  • Yes.  He holds it himself, but I haven't been able to find a sippy cup that he likes.  Each sippy we've tried, he just plays with.

  • She only takes a bottle when she goes to the gym daycare/church daycare.

Other than that she nurses or drinks out of a straw sippy (including pumped milk )

  • Yes, 4-5 bottles a day. She gets water in a sippy throughout the day at daycare. They don't allow bottles once she moves up to the 1 y/o room so they will work with her at that point.

  • Yes, but we are ditching it next week when she turns 1 year. She uses her sippy cup (with water) well at meals and even wants it in between meals sometimes. She drinks about a cup and a half of straight water from a sippy everyday. We have had the best luck so far with the Nuby straw sippy cups (also tried Tommy Tippee and Dr Browns).

  • V gets three bottles a day.  One before each nap, and one before bedtime.  It calms him, and I'm not looking forward to stopping.
    ...
  • Yup. DD will finish a sippy of juice/water but DS will only take a sip or twp
  • Yes, he still gets 6 bottles a day.  He will drink a few sips of water out of a straw sippy at meals though.

This. We just started doing one sippy cup a day though and he's doing really well so I think we'll be getting rid of bottles soon.

  • Yes, but only at the sitters. I was going to switch to sippys a couple weeks ago, but decided to just stick it out since I am losing my job the end of this week and I will just be nursing at home.
  • ds gets his formula from the bottle. he gets water out of a straw sippy cup. i won't put anything besides formula in a bottle; i don't want him to associate any other liquid w/it b/c once formula is done so is the bottle.

  • Yes, but at mealtime he drinks from a sippy.
  • She drinks her milk from a bottle (we'll hopefully transition that out soon, if she lets us hehe), but she drinks her water and watered down juice from a sippy.
