it's essentially for a dress up - play wear occasion and dd will be traveling in the car to her grandparents houses and she'll only visit three houses so it's not like she's walking the streets in them. she tried them on in the store when we got them and once at home to show off to daddy. other than that they are put away in a bag so as not to play in them and get hurt.
i know where you are coming from and i totally understand. there is no way i'd have her wear high heels on a regular basis. it's just for halloween and she won't be walking much anyhow so that is how i justified it to myself. we do have a backup if needed.
DD has the similar ones for Snow white. ?I'm bringing tennis shoes out too. ?When she saw them in the disney store she was so excited. ?It isn't like I buy her heels in any other way/occasion. ?
?
So not a big deal. ?
And I'm not someone who tarts her up, she wears stride rite sneaks 99% of the time, and wal-crocs the other 1%.
well that's just odd. as someone who has purchased heels for her not even 2 year old i think it is rediculous to use them on any random day. i wouldn't let my kid walk around in the shoes to trick-or-treat like a normal person (but since we are trick-or-treating in the car..) so yes, i agree with you on that. i don't get the playing and going to the park thought process.
Re: i missed the toddler high heel post...pip
I just don't understand why, for any reason, you'd want your 2 year old girl to wear high heels.
I don't have a girl, but I remember fighting with my mom to let me wear a small heel when she got remarried and I was 7.
Maybe I'm just a huge stick in the mud, but letting a baby girl wear heels is just too much for me.
Me with my littlest.

I can see for dress up. Heck, I let J run around in fairy wings at Gymboree, so I get letting kids play in clothes.
But my friend lets her daughter wear a 1" heel daily/whenever she wants. Like to the playground.
I don't understand it, but like I said, I don't have a girl, so maybe if I did, I'd understand.

I would let dd wear those for halloween/dress up around the house, and god help me if I tried to tell her no!
But for everyday, she herself would tell me no way. She could never walk in those long term.
