Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Anyone want to talk about PP weight loss?

Please, tell me any tips for losing the last 5-10lbs. I was hoping it would magically fall off, but sadly, that's not happening. I eat fairly healthy, I just don't have time to work out. Our gym (yes, I still have membership, it hasn't been used in *ahem* a few months) offers childcare, but not until age 2. Anytime DH is home I just want to hang out with him or HE wants to go work out.

Grrr.

  • My weight is sticking to me like glue, its so aggravating!  I put 10lbs on after stopping nursing at 7 mos and now i have 15lbs to loose!  I gave up sugar this week and ate healthy and watched cals, worked out and NADA!  UGH!

I'm short (5'2") so a tiny bit of weight tends to look like more. I'm the same size as I was PP, but it just looks different. Especially since I measured 3+ weeks ahead my entire pregnancy (I had Ryan at 39w2d) and had c/s. It's killing me. Ryan is lucky he's so cute Wink

If I gain weight after breastfeeding for a year, I'm going to puke! None the less, LO was born on New Years Day, which means I'll have pumped every day of 2010. I pray my reward is weightloss!

Oh i totally agree, aiden is lucky he's cute too!  I was HUGE my whole pregnancy, and I'm also only 4'9" so 5lbs would be huge on me... i really am shooting for 10lbs gone by xmas, at this rate not so great.

Yeah i was TICKED!  I pumped and nursed non stop and that was my reward...better luck for you!

  • I'm waiting until Weight Watchers starts their new plan at the end of the month, then I'm going on that and getting a gym membership. I'm setting a target goal for myself. I have a gift certificate for my favorite spa, and when I reach the halfway mark, I'm going for a haircut and massage to reward myself. I'm also asking for gift cards to my favorite clothing stores for Christmas, and I'm going to save them until I hit my goal weight, then buy myself new clothes!

That's the plan at this point, anyway. Stick out tongue

  • I wish I had some tips.  I can't lose anything!

  • 2!? I would find a new gym asap.  Mine takes them at 8 weeks.

Can you get out and run/walk with a jogger? Do you have a wii? There are a lot of games that have good cardio workouts...

I'm back to my PP size and weight, but I did work hard for it.  I also didn't gain much.  If you are paying for a gym, you need to pay for one that has care you can actually use! Is there another one you can look into?

I'm back at PP size and weight.  I have the unfortunate hanging c-section pouch and will probably get a tummy tuck when I'm done having kids.

Pilates 3 X a week and 45 mins on the treadmill about 4 or 5 times a week.  It's unfortunate but this is my reality or I'll get fat again... lol

I'm one of those people that if I choose not to exercise, I must consume no more than 1000 calories a day to see any shift in weight.  Obviously, that isn't healthy  - so I have to workout instead.

  • Unfortunately if you want to lose the weight, you will probably have to work out at least a little (unless you want to change your eating habits or count calories). ?If you don't have a lot of time for working out, try the 30 Day Shred workout DVD w/ Jillian Michaels. ?It's only like 22 minutes (only 18 of which you are doing the workout). ?I think anyone can find less than 25 mins in their day. ?I've only been doing it for 2 weeks and have noticed a difference. ?I know working out sucks, but once you get in the rhythm of doing it every day, it isn't so bad. ?Could you and your DH do a workout video together (like P90X or something) after LO is in bed? ?It's not a bad way to spend some time together and you'd both be getting your workout in. ?

  • I had a c/s too and was happy when I could finally go running again PP. Before that we'd go for walks and we still walk at least once a day. I am doing P90X for the second time, it's perfect to do after DD goes to sleep. Good luck!

I'm also 5'2" and I lost all the weight I gained by 3 weeks pp but I still can't fit into my pp pants. My belly is fatter than it was before but I'm still the same weight.. grr.. I didn't even go full term (36 w 4 days). I really need to start exercising- I haven't had the time since DH and I work opposite shifts and I only see him on the weekend.

  • I didn't start losing weight until LO was about 6 months.  I mean it, not a SINGLE pound.  The has come off pretty easily over the last 5 months - I am pretty much back at my pre-preg weight.  I am still nursing and I eat really well.

I went through a few months where I was walking 4 + miles and doing yoga most days.  Although I felt great when doing that, it didn't really make a difference in the weight loss department.  Controlling my food does.  I have lost about 30 lbs in 5 months, I want to lose about 15 - 20 more by April.
