At what point does reflux become a problem?
DD is awful spitting. Every feeding she spits up. Sometimes projectile, other times not. She constantly has gas, and wet burbs. When I nurse her she constantly latches and lets go. This could go on for an hour until I hold he head and keep her from letting go and then she nurses fine.
She sleeps sitting up, for up for 5 hours. laying down it is no more than 90-120 mins. it is awful at night in the crib.
I am thinking of calling the doctor, but I am not sure at what point it is too much of spitting is normal.
For what is is worth, DS NEVER spit or had problems sleeping, so this is new to me!!
Re: reflux
I would call your doctor. We are having major reflux issues at our house. My older daughter never had a problem (she spit up a ton, but was a "happy spitter"). My newborn son has more of "silent reflux". He is now on his 3rd medication, and 4th formula. The poor kid.
Reflux has been hard to deal with. He is miserable, and it's just made things a lot more difficult. Talk to your doctor. I am learning that a lot of doctor's don't understand reflux, so we went on and saw a Pedi GI.
GL!
UGH!!! Reflux is the worst!!! My daughter spits up all the time and sometimes it seems as though her whole bottle comes back up. She had projectile spit up with my breast milk and did better with formula so now she is on a mixture of gentle plus formula & formula with added rice. She is also on reflux medicine. I wasn't thrilled about giving her medicine but she was in so much pain after she ate.... now she is much better and not crying in pain after eating. It definitely helps to keep her sitting up when feeding and for a while afterwards. I also had to keep her at 4oz of formula and feed her every 2 hours instead of giving her a large amount of formula at once.
Good luck!
