I hate it. Before having Luke I never heard about alot of preemies. Now that ive had him I think ive seen/ heard about at least 4 on FB and 1 lady at Church. I just wish we could all make it to term.
I know what you mean. I was getting my hair done a couple days ago and one of the stylists there had her son 11 weeks early. She said it's like a club in a way, because we all have something in common and no one else knows what it's like.
As far as knowing about more preemies now, it's kind of like when you buy a new car, how suddenly everyone else seems to have it because your eyes are looking for it now.
Mom to 2 beautiful girls, 3 yrs and 22 months old. My 2nd was born at 32 weeks due to Rhogam failure/severe complications from Rh disease and is our miracle. She has bilateral auditory neuropathy and a cochlear implant, activated 4/5/2012 at 19 months.
I agree. After we had Jack it seemed like everyone we talked to knew someone who had a preemie. In a way NICU mamas are like veterans of a war. I feel like we need some sort of medal or a pin to wear!

Have you seen the preemie purple heart necklace. It's like your very own NICU war metal. They are very cool!
