Hey Heather
I just saw you mention you gave your sweet girl rice cereal at 11 weeks. Do you mind if I ask if it was to help fill her up more? I have heard of this prior to you mentioning it. I'm curious if it helped her sleep longer at night? TIA

Oh Tara yes it was to fill her tummy more. My Doctor recommended 1 serving because she was drinking 6 oz every four hours. He said since she was drinking so much and could hold her head up if I wanted to I could give her cereal by spoon. Once we started doing that she started sleeping 6-7 hour stretches. I firmly believe that rice cereal helped her sttn.
My MIL wanted to put it in her bottle but Doctor said by spoon so that's what I did. We made it very thin at first then gradually thickened it up as she got more used to eating. We gave it to her in between her late afternoon bottle and bath. It was hard at first. There were times she gagged an projectile vomited. it will happen so I wanted to warn u. But its ok.
hth...let me know if u have more questions

*butting in* This is so good to hear! Henry's been eating 6 oz. every 4 hours, and holding his head up for over a month now. I originally thought I might skip the whole rice cereal thing, but now I'm eager to try it. I think he might really like it (he loves watching us eat), and despite the fact that some people believe that it doesn't help them sttn, I think its worth a try!
We go to the pedi next week, so I'm going to ask then.
I love Hawaii!
