How do you rate your baby in terms of overall ease of caring for him/her, fussiness, sleeping, etc. as compared to the "average" baby? Explanations welcome:)[Poll]
miss kylie has very high needs lol. i think its because i have barely left her since she was born. i am the only one who can get her to sleep at night or to take a nap. (its BAD) although, i just set her up on the couch with some toys and i am sitting here, should be doing homework, but i am addicted to the bump.

I think it's hard to rate because what's "easy" for me isn't for others. Dylan now plays well by himself and others can rock him to sleep and such. But for example he won't go to bed alone someone has to rock him or I nurse him which for me is easy but some may disagree. Also for the first few months of his life he refused to be alone for the most part. Easy I just wore him and some would see that as a big hassle. :: shrugs shoulders::
Being a mom to E is way easier than I expected. She (for the most part) plays well by herself and doesn't need to be held all of the time. She also puts herself to sleep if she's sleepy and rarely needs to be rocked or fed. She's also been STTN since about three months.

Amelia is super easy. She plays well alone, almost never cries, no eating problems, only had one cold that lasted a day. Now that she is teething she gets a little fussy sometimes, but other than that she is golden. I do have to rock her to sleep though, she wont go to sleep if you just lay her down. She never just cried for no reason as an infant. I always felt bad when I would see other ladies post that their baby would just cry and cry for no reason.
ETA : My son on the other hand, is very active and needs a lot of attention. He is always running from one thing to the next and has a short attention span. He is a great kid, but he has always needed a lot of interaction.
I would have rated Grant easy or even exceptionally easy but this past couple weeks has been rough. I blame teething. He's my wonderful happy monkey one minute and then a miserable grumpy monster the second. I want my sweet baby back!
I voted for high needs. DS has huge feeding issues and FTT. He doesn't eat much and he needs to. Feeding him is this long slightly confusing process. Plus, he's a cranky needy little fella so he tends to freak out when other people care for him.
I said high needs, but I wish I could change to SS. If he's comfortable, he's an easy baby. But when he's having tummy issues, it shoots up to very high needs. Though I still have to be careful how I eat, so that adds difficulty, even when he's happy.

I agree with this. Most people would probably consider Riley "high needs" (BTW I loathe that term as a personality descriptor)
because she does only very short periods of independent play at a time
and prefers to be with me/see what I'm doing. I don't see it as being
needy, personally, I see it as she's a baby who can't so much for
herself so would rather hang out with Mom. I just wear her a lot or
spend time on the floor with her, no big deal. Doing those things, though, keeps her from fussing/crying and she only wakes once a night, if at all, so overall I think she's easy.
I would say average. She is in general a very happy, smiley baby. She can play by herself for long periods of time and in general is a very content baby. However, I have to nurse her down for naps and bedtime and she is still swaddled and still not STTN. We went through a great week of her sleeping 11 hours straight, but now she has a cold and is probably teething so she is waking at night more. DH can rock her to sleep and others too, but it takes a lot longer and she cries a lot because she is pissed that I am not nursing her and she will not allow me to JUST rock her, the boobs are there and she will settle for nothing less! I would consider her a very easy baby if not for the sleep issues-which to me seem average.

I was fully prepared for a very difficult baby but was pleasantly surprised.
The only thing you need to watch with him is that his schedule stays the same. I also didn't think he would need one and he does.

I chose SS. For me, she's incredibly easy about 80% of the time. Recently we've been dealing with a cold, teething, and DST.
The thing is that every baby is so different, I'm not sure what 'average' is.
DD is seriously the best/easiest baby I have ever seen (and I spend a lot of time around babies.)
My mom owns a daycare and watches DS and DD everyday and she agrees. Best. Baby. Ever.
DS was a different story
And I'm convinced that baby #3 will be the devil.
