  • OOOO that was SO me! I was crying one minute and pissed off the next. My moods were crazy, thank goodness my DH had some patience and that we worked opposite shifts. It lasted about a week and then I was back to normal again. It will be over soon, no worries. I think your body has to adjust.

  • I wasn't hormonal after going off the BCPs but I get MAJOR mood swings when AF arrives. Crying, snapping at people, back to crying, etc.

  • I am a lot moodier being off BCP, but it's not all the time. Just certain points in my cycle, which I haven't found a pattern yet. I was SUPER moody yesterday. Like angry over a serving spoon, and then hysterical crying because of stupid stuff. I don't know how DH put up with me.

BCP made me slightly moody every day... On the flip side, I am also a lot happier in general now.

  • I've noticed that I am much more moody in the middle of my cycle now than I was on BCP.  I don't know if the BCP regulated my O hormones so that it wasn't noticeable then, but I am BSC around O now (worse then PMS).  DH has learned this, and treads carefully :P
  • Oh yeah, you're not alone! Right after going off the pill, I was a bit of a mess. One night, my husband asked if I wanted to have leftovers for dinner, and I actually started crying because I didn't want them...which freaked us both out, because that is so not me. I also had sore breasts the entire first month, and noticed an enjoyably enhanced libido. Like other posters have said, don't worry, the weirder symptoms do subside eventually!
  • Hmm, I can't really remember specifics because I havn't been on BCP for 2 1/2 years (Not for TTC, I just didn't like them)

Anyway, it can take your body about 6 months to regulate after going off of them.  For most women that means wacky cycles and periods, but its possible its just really pms.
