Majorly sticky sticker... help needed!

DH put the crib together a few nights ago- but it has a MONSTER warning label running down a side panel. I tried to peel it off- but it just ripped and really none of it came off.

Tonight- I sprayed it generously with Goo-Gone- let it sit, and tried to peel off again. Still no luck. Goo Gone has always been my "go-to" for getting off sticky things..

Any suggestions on how to get off this pesky sticker? It is fugly and I don't like it.

  • Goo Gone didn't do it!?  That's my go-to as well.

No! It made me way mad, too! I don't know what to do- it's a gorgeous crib with a junky, loud sticker.

    Sorry for double/triple/quadruple posts also!

  • I pretty much use vinegar for everything, so that's what I would try!  Haha.

  • Maybe try heating it up with a blow dryer to get the sticky stuff melting then gently scrap with a credit card? Then use goo off to get the last pits?
  • Try Skin-So-Soft oil made by Avon if you can find it. I worked at a library back in high school, and that was the secret ingredient for getting stickers off of books. If you can't find that, try baby oil. Good luck!
  • We've always used lighter fluid for the tough ones.  Works AMAZING.

I know exactly what you're talking about. We got the Graco Sarah and the warning label was impossible to get off. It seriously took me about an hour to scrape the sticker off without damaging the wood finish.

  • OK- So the vinegar worked to get off the paper-ish part of the sticker.... I dampened sticker with vinegar, let it sit, then scraped with old driver license. The GooGone finally did its job on the remnant sticky.

    Thanks ladies!
