Hi everyone! ?I am 15 weeks pregnant and due February 8th. ?It would be fun to meet people from Calgary on here and hear about possible play groups and fun activities to do with baby while off on maternity leave :-)
Hi! I'm from Calgary too! I'm 10 weeks pregnant and due March 15. I don't really know anything about activities here, because I'm the first of my friends to get pregnant, but I'm always looking for things like that!
I'm in Calgary as well... 33 week+, due the beginning of October... I have done a little research on playgroups but haven't really looked into anything yet.
Just an FYI, if you are going to be signing up for the Birth and Babies classes (the set that goes 2-3 weeks after you deliver) I would suggest signing up early. I tried when I was about 6 mos and they were all full for my due date.
Also, if you are looking into getting a midwife, start now!! They book up really, really fast...
I'm from Calgary too! I'm just about 13 weeks and due March 15th like *JenMegs* !!! What areas are you guys from?

Things to avoid during pregnancy: Eye contact with cats. Cats will suck the burgeoning life right out of you, using their infamous feline mind-powers. Avert your eyes, and move along.
FACT: 1 in 10 people are said to be a carrier of Listeria. Therefore you should avoid all shopping malls, grocery stores and busy street corners for the duration of your pregnancy. Or microwave anyone you contact until steaming, just to be safe.
I live in Calgary as well, we signed up for the 10 week birth and babies classes, so I am also hoping to meet other moms due around my time there. Im due December 5th with a little girl.

HI! My name is Mindy, I live in Calgary (Acadia). I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my first baby, due February 11th. I've been looking for mommy/baby groups too. I've also signed up for a 10 week prenatal class so I'm sure I'll meet people there. It seems like the groups are all for after you have your baby. Has anyone seen any coffee groups or the like for getting together while you're still pregnant?? It'd be nice to hear stories from other pregnant people

Oh wow I'm in Acadia too! Small world!!!
I saw in the neighborhood newsletter booklet thing on the calendar that there's a mom's and tots group/get together thing on Wednesdays at the Recreation complex 9-11am but it's more for after you've had your baby. Otherwise I have zero ideas as far as existing meet up groups. I wish I had some ideas but it seems so hard to find them! None of the websites I've checked are very active at all.

I saw online today on www.calgary.ca/recreation that they have tons of prenatal fitness stuff that starts in January. I wish I had known for the fall.
