How long... (feeding question)

How long does it take your LO to eat a meal of finger foods? Also, is there a maximum amount of time that you give them to eat? When they start playing with the food instead of eating, do you take it away?

    Jaxen usually takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to eat. Anything over that and he will start throwing the food everywhere or trying to drop it on the dog.

    Same as PP, 15-20 min. When he's done he'll play with it, smack it, throw it on the floor. When he's done eating he wants OUT of his highchair. At restaurants he's okay staying in it after he's finished eating.

    We all eat as a family.  I serve Ophelia at the same time as us.  We give her her plate, name the foods and then we all begin to eat.  Hubs and I may talk for a few min once we're done but after that she's usually done too.  We all end the meal together just like we began.  So....maybe 20min.

    when he starts throwing it behind him in the highchair... he is done. It can take 15-40 minutes.

    It can take her up to 40 minutes to eat.  Sometimes she dives right in and gobbles all her food down in 15 minutes, and other times she plays around.  She's done when she starts trying to give her food to the cats.
