How to find daycare?

I want to send my baby to an actual person and not a place of business.  How do you find people to interview?  I have talked to one person but she's the mother of one of my students, so she offered me services.  I would not have known how to find her otherwise except for word of mouth.  Is that pretty much what I have to do?

    Are you looking for a nanny or an in home day care?  SitterCity is good for trying to find a nanny.

    Some, but not all, in home daycares are licensed through the state, and you can look them up online.
