Registry Close Out Discount?

I heard that BRU and BuyBuyBaby give you a coupon to buy the items you didn't get as gifts from your registry. My shower is next weekend, and I'd like to pick up the items I don't receive right after since my baby is coming sooner then we planned! How do I get the discounts?  Will I have to wait a while, or is there a way to request it sooner?  thanks!

    Change the due date on your registry to the end of this month and you should get it shortly.  I put mine as end of Nov. and just got both of my last week and today.

    A couple bumpies said they were given their BRU completion coupon in the store when they asked for it. Call the store first & ask their policy to be sure. I'm calling our local BRU today since we're planning to go tomorrow and it's about 50 miles one-way. 

    BuyBuyBaby - I have no idea since the nearest BBB is over 100 miles away, but I would call your local store & ask. If they compete with BRU they might give you a completion coupon in-store too.

    I listed my EDD as Dec 1 (a month early) at Buy Buy Baby and got my coupon last Saturday. I will say that for BBB the coupon is only for 10% and since you can use any unexpired Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon (which are usually 20% off) it doesn't seem like anything special.
