Teething Tips

I'd love to hear them!  Poor Faelen is teething and cutting his first tooth (his top front left tooth); I can feel it and see it coming in.  I know that those teething tablets were recalled; I've been giving him the occasional dosage of tylenol when it seems especially painful.  I have various teethers, and he also likes frozen banana slices wrapped and secured in a damp cold washcloth.

Any tips?  Faelen and I would much appreciate them.

  • At the Holly Springs CVS, they have a different brand of teething tablets you can buy. Also, don't be stingy on the Tylenol. We would give Katie a dose or two a day for a few days there.

Katie didn't like a single teether toy available. SHe also didn't like frozen stuff, wet washclothes, popsicles or anything. We got by with some ambusol, teething tablets and Tylenol. Switch to Motrin if the Tylenol isn't strong enough.

  • Caleb liked this raspberry teether best, and also the vibrating one. He would sometimes chew on a frozen bagel, or you can try a safe feeder type thing. (Pretty much the same as using a washcloth though)

Motrin definitely worked best for Caleb, but I know Faelen isn't 6 months yet. Maybe try Orajel? We never used it but i know some people swear by it.

  • Thanks ladies!  I've actually looked at that raspberry teether before and contemplated buying it.  I'll probably pick one up today.
